Y/N's POV;

"You know, it just dawned on me," Garroth said, draping an arm over my shoulder as we lounged comfortably, watching "My Little Horsies" in the house shared by Garroth, Laurence, Dante, my brother Travis, and me.

"Hmm?" I responded, my attention fixed on the show, not bothering to glance at him.

"Why is it that we never really hang out at your place? You practically spend more time here than in your own house. It's almost as if you've taken up residence here," I looked up at Garroth, who returned my gaze with a curious expression.

"Hey, it's not like I'm here every single day. I spend time with Aph and Katelyn as well, you know," defending myself, he arches an eyebrow at me.

"Oh, really? Since when?" He challenged me with a hint of skepticism.

"Well, Mr. 'I sleep in every single day,' let me enlighten you. Before I even make my way here, if my editor isn't bombarding me with calls about a new chapter for one of my books, I'm out in the morning having actual conversations with Aph or Katelyn, because they're actually early birds like me," I said with a smirk, playfully poking his nose. He responded with a roll of his eyes, resting his head on his knuckles, that's currently resting on the armchair, on one arm, and the other pulling me closer

"Hey, I don't sleep in every single day, you know. Just admit that you enjoy spending time with me," he said, a smirk playing on his lips as his high school personality seemed to resurface.

Before I could even respond, our connection was interrupted as Travis plopped himself down between Garroth and me, breaking our moment, and making both Garroth and I sit up. He leaned back, casually draping his hands over both of our shoulders. Garroth and I exchanged glances, then shifted our attention back to my brother.

"So, what's the plan here? Watching 'My Little Horsies'? Awesome, I absolutely adore this show," Travis smirked, clearly aware that he was disrupting our moment and relishing in it. I crossed my arms and leaned back on his armrest, my focus on the show. Garroth cleared his throat and then stood up clearing his throat, his expression composed.

"I'm going to grab some water. Do either of you want some?" Garroth offered, looking towards me and then at Travis.

I shook my head in response, declining the offer with a smile. As Garroth made the offer, Travis playfully placed his hand on my shoulder in a protective manner and said, "I'd love some, actually. Thanks, Garroth. You're quite the considerate one, aren't you? right, copycat?" He teased, directing the good-natured comment at both of us.

Garroth let out an awkward laugh and headed towards the kitchen, mumbling something under his breath. Once he had left, I turned my attention to Travis removing his hold on me.
