The Tale Of X-49: A RWBY Story

Chapter Seventy - Chaos

As the lights went off at the party, chaos quickly gripped the party as Tyrian Callows began killing the attendees. In a panic, someone elbows Ruby, knocking her down and causing her to hit her head against the side of the stage. In the midst of this chaos, X-49 readied his pistols and attempted to find Tyrian. X-49 quickly switched to night vision to see through the darkness. As soon as he does so, Tyrian attacks X-49. During the scuffle, a panicked civilian pushes X-49 to the ground in an attempt to escape, allowing Tyrian to slip into the crowd. During this, Penny activates her night vision and spots Tyrian fighting X-49. Penny then readies her Floating Array and aims them at Tyrian.

Penny: Put down your weapon and surrender!

Tyrian smiles as he uses the opportunity to disappears into the crowd. As the lights turned on, the newscaster on the TV announces the election results.

Newscaster(TV): And the winner of the Atlas Council election is....Jacques Schnee!

As the announcement was made, terror and confusion gripped the crowd as dead bodies lie scattered around the room. All eyes soon fell on Penny.

Civilian: It's Ironwood's robot!

Robyn: Penny.

Penny becomes confused as accusations began to fly.

Penny: I...I didn't....

The TV then shows footage of Jacques giving a victory speech. As the civilians began to crowd around Penny, X-49 stepped in.

X-49: That's not what happened! 

Ruby: He's right! It was Tyrian Callows! He's responsible!

The outraged crowd was not convinced as they prepared to rush Penny. Before they could do so, Marrow stepped in and blocked the crowd.

Marrow: Get Penny out the back, now!

With that, X-49 along Ruby, Ren and Nora took Penny out the back door and into the alleyway.

X-49: Is everyone all right?

Penny was silent as she processed the situation. Suddenly, the sounds of Grimm roaring and people screaming were heard in the distance. Without hesitation, they run out of the alleyway to see Manticores invading Mantle. A giant TV screen in the background broadcast Jacques Schnee as he gives a victory speech while Mantle's security sirens begin blaring and the street lights turn red.

Ruby: No.....

X-49: Not good....

As the group readied their weapons for the fight ahead, Penny looks upon the group sadly and flies away.

Ruby: Penny, wait!

X-49: Don't worry about Penny! Let her go. I can't imagine what the poor girl is going through. 

Ruby's words fell on deaf ears as Penny flew away. As the group attempt to plan their approach, X-49 looked at a nearby rooftop and could see Tyrian Callows running. Without hesitation, X-49 readied his weapons and began chasing after Tyrian. X-49 climbs up a ladder and pursues Tyrian through the roof. After a lengthy chase, X-49 corners Tyrian. 

X-49: That's far enough. 

Tyrian turns around, cackling while he does it. Despite being cornered, Tyrian maintained his sadistic grin.

Tyrian: You must be the Little Rose's pet robot. 

X-49: And you must be Tyrian Callows. Ruby's told me a lot about you. 

Tyrian: You have interfered in our affairs for the last time!

X-49: There's no way out, Callows!

Tyrian: What an interesting thought! There's gonna come a time when you will wish you never met me.

X-49: Mister, I'm already there. 

Tyrian: You cannot stop the will of the Goddess! All shall bow to her in despair! I dedicate my life to the Goddess. Soon, all of Remnant shall burn. The fire has been started. The fire will rise and all shall burn. You cannot stop what is to come. Soon, Mantle and Atlas shall burn. The Divine Mistress has said so. I am an instrument of her will. Blood shall be spilled. You cannot stop what is to come!

X-49: Don't even think about it.

As X-49 prepared his pistols, Tyrian cackled at him. 

Tyrian: Look at you toy soldiers following orders so blindly. I almost pity you. I dedicate my life to the Goddess. Soon, all of Remnant shall burn. The fire has been started. The fire will rise and all shall burn. Whatever you and those children think you're doing, it will all be for nothing. 

X-49: Don't do anything stupid, Callows.

Tyrian: I've still yet to pay the Little Rose a visit for what she did to be. But I'm sure we'll meet again soon enough!

X-49: You leave my sister out of this, you son of a bitch!

Tyrian cackles at X-49 as the Combat Droid tightly grips his pistols. X-49 then begins scanning X-49 for all nonlethal areas to shoot him. 

X-49: I'm giving you to the count of three to stand down. Don't test me. 

As X-49 began counting, Tyrian cackles in turn. X-49 became concerned as Tyrian cackles even louder.

Tyrian: THE WILL OF OUR GODDESS SHALL BE DONE!

Tyrian then pulls out two grenades and throws them at X-49. As the grenades detonate, the force of the explosion knocks X-49 off the edge and falls to the ground. X-49's fall was cushioned by a nearby car. After a moment, X-49 gets back up and climbs back up the ladder. But by the time he reached the rooftop, Tyrian was long gone. X-49 attempts to scan the area for any clues that could allow X-49 to follow Tyrian, but any trail that could be found would have no doubt been destroyed by the explosion. 

X-49: Damn it.....

With that, X-49 joined up with Ruby and the others in fighting off the Grimm. Though they were able to fight off the Grimm, there would be serious repercussions for what transpired here. Repercussions that no one would be prepared for.
