Along the Red Sea
1947
Marion gripped the top of the bluff, searching for a handhold. Her cheek was pressed against the hot stone and she was covered in dirt and sand.
The rope creaked as the ocean breeze moved her slightly. One hand gripped the rope, while the other continued to search the top of the cliff.
"Gotta be something," she muttered in between ancient curses, which Annie was not supposed to know what they meant - but Marion was certain Annie knew. Indy's father as a babysitter had educated both their children in multiple languages. And Annie's detective uncle - half of what he spoke was obscene English.
"Marion!" Indy yelled from far below.
Marion didn't turn. "Almost got it!" Her hand gripped something and she pulled.
It moved.
She screamed.
