Ink's POV

After many hours of traveling, we finally arrived in Zerania. I could see the castle standing proud over the rest of the buildings. I heard a groan next to me, causing me to turn my gaze away from the carriage window. I saw Error tucked away in the corner of the seat. He pulled the hood of his cloak further down as he tried to hide from the setting sun.

As a way to comfort him, I gently placed my hand on his knee. The vampire softly smiled at me.

Error: I appreciate the gesture, my love.

After we passed the silver entrance gates of the castle the carriage stopped. The door opened and allowed us to get out however, I stayed behind. Error turned to me and showed a concerned expression.

Error: What is wrong, Ink?

Me: Nothing. I was going to return to my old home to get some rest for the night.

Error: Very well. I will hopefully see you tomorrow then, depending on the time of day.

I walked up the front steps of my mansion. To be honest seeing it was a welcomed sight. After a few seconds of waiting the door was opened and I was greeted with my maid, Lydia.

The maid stood in shock for a minute before quickly becoming excited.

Lydia: Master Comyet! It is so good to see you!

She bowed, letting me in. Lydia rushed off to presumably tell my mother and father that I had returned home. While I waited, I sat in one of the chairs in front of the hearth.

After a few moments of waiting, an angelic voice spoke out from behind me. It was my mother. I stood up and turned around to face her, being met with a warm hug.

Mother: Welcome home, my son. I am sure you are tired from your trip. If you would have let me know that you were going to stay here, I would have had the servants prepare your room sooner.

Me: I apologize.

Mother: Your father is sleeping so you can just greet him in the morning.

I nodded, making my way to my bedroom. The servants bowed to me as I walked by. Eventually I entered my bedroom with Lydia standing next to my bed. She smiled to me.

Lydia: Your bed is prepared, young master. I hope you have a good rest.

Me: I will.

Lydia adjusted my clothing and checked my outfit. We stood in the castle drawing room, finishing any last preparations for the ball. My attire was not the jeweled black clothing that I had grown used to, it was the same outfit that I wore the night of Error's birthday. It brought back memories of the blue moon, as well as me involuntarily playing a game of hide and seek with him.

I was unable wear my Kilkree outfit as I could not associate myself with Error as same sex couples were not accepted within mortal kingdoms.

Lydia: Alright, you are ready to dance. Go have fun, young master.

Me: I will try. Thank you Lydia.
