July 22nd
In the blink of an eye

Everything was gone in the blink of an eye.

The fun, the happiness, the sense of belonging, the feeling of being truly home.

One minute she was there, and the next she was standing on a dusty railway platform, watching as the train pulled up to take them all to school.

School.

Back to reality she guessed.

And that's the way it always would be from this moment onwards, because it was all gone.

Never again would she go back home, never again would she feel like she truly belonged, because it was all gone, she could never go back.

She could never go home.

It had been her last time there, and if she had known that, maybe she would've tried to make the most of it.

She would've treasured the little moments, made the most of every single second, enjoyed it more, had more fun, taken more risks, she would've done things differently.

When she knew she wouldn't be returning, she had taken a risk in kissing Caspian, so if she had known from the beginning, would she have taken any more risks like that?

She'd never know, after all, you can't know what would've happened, only what will happen.

And goodness knows what would happen to her now, but all she knew was that life would never, ever be the same again.
