One more word•••••••
"Susan, in the kindest way possible, if I hear one more word about this ball I will actually scream."
Susan blinked, before raising an eyebrow. "Oh come on," She breathed. "It's not that bad."
Peter sighed. "I've just got so much to concentrate on besides that night." He told her. "Perhaps a break from the planning would be nice."
Susan understood, and nodded. "That's okay," She said gently. "Perhaps I'll get Edmund to help."
"No you most certainly will not!"
Edmund entered the room, looking terrified.
"I'm not helping you pick out which colour napkin we're gonna use." He added quickly.
Susan smirked. "Why not?" She asked innocently.
Edmund rolled his eyes. "What about this one? It's a lovely pink colour." He said, mocking Susan rather perfectly. "Or there's this one, which is the tiniest of fractions lighter than the other. Or there's a third, which might as well be exactly the same colour as the first one but apparently it's not."
Peter choked back a laugh, putting his hand to his mouth and turning away.
Susan just looked amused though. "They're all different colours and you know it." She said.
"No they're not!" Edmund exclaimed. "They're all exactly the same!"
Peter was fighting a losing battle at this point, and couldn't help the laugh that escaped him.
"Why don't you just ask Lucy, I'm sure she'll be more than happy to help you." Edmund said quickly.
Susan nodded. "And she'll be a lot more help than you two could ever be." She agreed, before leaving the room in search of her little sister.
Edmund let out a sigh of relief, turning to Peter. "That was too close."
