At the end of the day

"How about you just go and read a book?" Peter suggested. "It's getting late."

"But why?" Edmund complained. "I wanna play."

Peter stared at his five year old brother, sighing. "Because at the end of the day all I want to do is nothing." He said firmly. "It's been a long day."

Edmund attempted to roll his eyes. "You're not fun." He said.

The eight year old glared at him. "I am." He argued.

Helen laughed from the sofa. "Come on boys settle down." She said gently.

"Peter's boring." Edmund told his Mum, wandering over to her and sitting down.

Peter didn't look impressed. "I'm not boring." He said. "You're just hyper."

Edmund stuck his tongue out at his older brother, who did it right back at him, making Helen sigh in amusement. "What am I gonna do with you two?" She questioned. "You're both troublemakers."

"Nope," Peter muttered. "Just Edmund."

And that would stand for when they were older, Edmund was definitely more of the troublemaker, but when they were both little kids, they could be as bad as each other.
