September 23rd
You're too quiet

"What's up with you?"

Peter glanced up. "Nothing," He practically whispered. "Why?"

Edmund crossed his arms. "You're too quiet." He pointed out. "You're not yourself."

"And you can tell how?" Peter snapped.

Edmund raised an eyebrow. "Because I know you." He said simply, shrugging. "You aren't acting like yourself, you're hardly speaking, you're hardly doing anything."

Peter stared at him.

"So what's wrong?" Edmund asked. "Are you going to willingly tell me, or am I gonna have to nag you and nag you until I manage to force the information out of you?"

Peter sighed. There was no point in letting him nag, it would just delay the inevitable - Edmund would get it out of him, sooner or later.

So why not sooner I guessed.

"It's just one of those days," Peter sighed. "I didn't sleep at all last night."

Edmund looked concerned. "Why not?" He asked.

Peter hesitated. "Nightmares." He mumbled, hating that he was actually talking about it, but he couldn't be dealing with Edmund's constant asking and nagging and fussing, his head would explode.

Edmund sat upright. "What about?"

Peter shrugged. "Bit of everything really." He replied. "Nothing for you to worry about though."

"Something tells me that's a lie." Edmund said immediately. "If you're not sleeping because of nightmares then I feel like I should definitely be worried."

"Please don't work yourself up." Peter sighed. "I'm fine, honestly."

"You'd be doing the same thing if it was me." Edmund told him, and he was right of course. "What were you planning on doing today?"

"Paperwork?"

"Not on my watch." Edmund nearly laughed. "You're going to go back to your room and get some sleep, and I'll sit with you."

"You're going to watch me sleep?" Peter muttered.

"Yeah." Edmund shrugged. "You've watched me sleep plenty of times, it's my turn now."

Peter smiled weakly. "You're real funny." He breathed.

"I mean it," Edmund told him. "Come on, please just try and get some rest, take care of the paperwork another day."

Peter hesitated greatly, but in the end he slowly nodded. "Yeah okay," He agreed eventually. "I could do with some sleep, I feel like I can't keep my eyes open."

Edmund patted his shoulder. "Thank you." He sighed. "You head up, I'll make some tea and then I'll join you."

Peter smiled. "Tea sounds nice." He breathed.

Edmund chuckled. "Course it does," He said. "Now go, I'll see you in a second."
