"I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint. I do not feel ashamed."

Zion's POV

"The Sekai Taikai is coming. It's up to us to pick our seven most badass fighters," Johnny calls out once we fall in.

"And there are no easy decisions. We know you all want to go to Barcelona," Daniel states.

"Some of you think you're shoo-ins, that you're at the top of your game, that nothing or no one can stop you."

"Some of you think you're the underdogs, and you don't know if you have what it takes, that you feel left out and left behind."

"It's a level playing field. Anything can happen."

"Each and every one of you has a shot. So, as we make our evaluations, do your best."

"Now is not the time to puss out."

"Even though we are competing against each other, we are still one dojo, and it's time to bring out the best in all of us."

"So. Which of you has what it takes to be in our top seven?" Johnny concludes on behalf of him and Daniel.

I look around the dojo and have a strong idea of who it may be: me, Robby, Tory, Miguel, Sam, and Hawk. And hopefully Kenny. I'm ready for whatever they'll throw at us tomorrow afternoon.

Miguel, Sam, Tory, Robby, and I find each other at the beginning of school the next day. Today will be a long one because I have school then training then therapy. It seems like things are normal for now between the five of us since we basically know we're the ones going to Barcelona.

"All right, so, do y'all think there's any chance we don't make the top seven?" Miguel wonders aloud.

"Maybe when hell freezes over," Tory laughs.

"Let's hope there's not a tournament category for humility," Sam says sarcastically.

"Oh, come on. We got two-All Valley champs, two runner-ups, and Mr. Miyagi's last student," Robby argues.

Tory looks at me wearily when he mentions the All Valley since we all now know it was rigged. To me, it doesn't matter; I'm just glad Silver and Cobra Kai are gone.

"Yeah," I reassure all of them. "We've got this."

"This is us," Robby stops at our first period.

"See you at lunch," Miguel nods as he, Sam, and Tory head to their classes.

Robby grabs my hand with hope for the tournament twinkling in his eyes. I happily pull him into class. This tournament can be life-changing for both of us. We just have to do our best this afternoon.
