Chapter Seventy-Two: This Once

A/N: For the first time, I present to you Sam's point of view. This chapter starts off after Miguel tells Daniel about Z's mom. Part of this chapter is largely the same you have read except from Sam's view, but there's an additional scene that is quite pivotal only in this chapter. Please be sure to read it (also because I'm proud of how it turned out).
The SH warnings are back in this chapter for two specific parts that I've marked, but the rest should be fine. Let's just say Sam has struggled with self love for a while, too.

Sam's POV
"I don't care! First Tory and now Z? And you won't even give me a reason why?"
"Sam, I can't tell you why. It's a personal thing," Dad tries to reason.
I groan, "It's like you don't even care about my safety anymore."
"Samantha," Mom stands up, "your safety is not the only one that matters anymore."
I stare at my parents in shock, "Are you insa-"
"Of course we put your safety above all else. Z and Tory returning to school is in our hands and it is something that we can control. They risk everything if they hurt you in school."
"Z needs some help," Dad agrees.
"Yeah, help in a mental institution," I sit back on the couch. "How did you even find this stuff-you-can't-tell-me-about out anyway?"
"Well, I... I saw Kreese a couple months back," Mom sighs.
"You didn't tell me that," I state in surprise.
"And, I had someone come tell me," Dad joins.
"Someone?" I ask skeptically. "Trustworthy source."
"Honey," Dad leans across to me, "Miguel told me."
"Daniel," Mom says through gritted teeth.
"Miguel? Like, my boyfriend, Miguel? Miguel Diaz? He told you and not me?"
"Sam-"
I stand up angrily, "No! I'm being left out of the conversation, so why should I be involved in the 'resolution?'"
I run up to my room, slam the door, and lock it.
"Someone's at that time of the month."
"Go away, Anthony!"
My head pounds as I remember her hands pressing on my neck and her sadistic face. I thought only Tory could scare me and that I was past that, but every little thing is messing with my head now.
I grab my phone.
"Sam, what's up?" his cheerful voice comes through.
"What did you tell my dad about Z?"
"He told you that I spoke to him?" Miguel asks wearily.
"Yes. What am I not allowed to know?"
"I can't tell you."
"Well, I'm not letting her back in school until I know," I state.
"Hey, wait, no, it's a personal thing-"
