We were at the party. Well in the bathroom, since I needed to help Luke with his little, well more like HUGE problem.

Luke got out before me, and I wanted to wait a while so no one would get suspicious.

I had fixed my hair and decided to go out and find Luke.

Luke's POV

I was waiting for Janet to come to our table with our family, when Victoria came over to our table.

Victoria was my childhood friend until she moved towards a different part of Sydney, thus making her have to switch schools.

"Care to dance?" She asked smiling.

"I-" but I was interrupted.

"He would love to." My dad said for me.

I didn't want to dance with her! What if Janet saw me, what if she gets sad and leaves?

The doctor said not to stress her out.

We started slow dancing around.

We caught up in what had happened over the years.

That's when I saw Janet out of the corner of my eye.

Janet's POV

I saw Luke dancing with Victoria.

Awe they must have been really good childhood friends.

I smiled at Luke, and he smiled back continuing to dance with her.

Phew I'm so glad I won't have to dance. I hope Victoria saved me from the award of clumsiness and dances with Luke.

I sat down next to Liz and we started to chat.

"I don't know why Luke doesn't go out with Victoria?" Andrew said.

That made my heart ache.

Why didn't Luke's dad like me?

"Andrew!" Liz scowled at him.

"No, it's alright, it is kinda of weird to imagine someone as simple as me being liked by a Greek god like your son." I smiled at them kindly.

Liz smiled as Andrew just rolled his eyes.

I continued talking with Liz.

After a while I turned to see if Luke was walking over but he was still talking with Victoria.

"Don't worry darling, he likes you to much to let you go." Liz said giving me a wink.

I smiled.

Liz was wonderful.
She was queen.
Luke is lucky to have her.

That's when Victoria rested her head on his chest that it got a little uneasy.

"Care to dance?" I turned and saw holy fuck the groom himself.

Was that even correct? I thought the groom only danced with his bride and family.

That's when I saw that behind him, Becky was dancing with some old man.

"Sure." I said standing up and taking his outstretched hand.

We walked onto the dance floor and slow danced.

"How old are you?" He asked me.

Wow that was sudden.

"18?" I said and sounded more like a question.

"I'm 23." He smiled.

23? No wonder he looked young. Because he IS young.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Janet Johnson." I smiled warmly.

"Beautiful name for a beautiful lady." He smiled spinning me.

"My name is Manuel Ortega." He smiled.

"Cool, and congrats on you and your bride." I winked.

He frowned at the word bride.

"Is something wrong?" I asked as he gave me another spin.

"Nothing, it's just...the age difference." He laughed.

"But age shouldn't matter, you two love each other." I said as the song ended.

There were so many people around that Manuel was shoved right up against me.

"Ouch." I said clutching my stomach, breathing in and out quickly.

"Are you ok?" He asked pulling me towards a chair and sitting me down gently.

"Water please." I said as the air was still not fully entering my lungs.

Manuel grabbed a bottle quickly and handed it to me.

I drank a few sips.

That's when Luke rushed to me in seconds slightly shoving Manuel "accidentally" to the side.

"Janet are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded as my breathing slowly returned to normal.

"Is she alright?" Manuel asked.

"Yeah I am." I said standing up as if nothing had happened.

Luckily we hadn't caused a scene and everyone was still enjoying the party.

"I'm alright Luke, you should go back with Victoria." I said as I saw her looking around for most likely Luke.

Luke hugged me just as Victoria turned and saw us.

Luke then walked to her.

I hadn't thought he was gonna actually leave me.

I frowned.

"Is that your boyfriend?" Manuel asked.

"No." I lied.

I'm not sure why.

But I think our relationship might be over. The way they look at each other. The way she makes him laugh and smile.

My heart felt like someone had put a nail through it with a hammer.

"Would you like to continue dancing?" Manuel asked.

"Gladly." I smiled.

After a few dances, Manuel went back to his wife.

And I started searching for Luke.

But after a while of searching I couldn't find him so decided to head to the bathroom.

I turned into the hall with the bathroom and that's when I saw Victoria, and when she saw me, she didn't look happy at all.
