I opened the door to be greeted by my mom.

She didn't look old at all.

But what really pecked my interest was the dude she was with.

"Mom?" I asked asked as my eyes watered.

She nodded as tears also formed in her eyes and she hugged me.

She was just like how I remembered her.

She smelled like strawberries. Just like when I was younger.

"I missed you." I managed to say.

"I did too." She said pulling away and drying her tears.

"I was hoping we could catch up? I made dinner." I smiled warmly at her.

She smiled and nodded as she and the guy walked in.

"Hi I'm Jimmy." He said waving to me.

"He's my husband." She smiled.

Wtf her husband?

I felt happy for my mom but this dude looked my age.

He smiled warmly and gave me a tight hug.

Jesus he almost squished the light out of me.

"Hey I'm Janet." I smiled.

That's when Luke and my friends got up and by us.

"This house is beautiful, is it yours?" She asked.

"Actually it's my fianće's." I said as Luke wrapped his arm around my waist.

My mom's shimmered with happiness.

I showed her my ring and she congratulated me.

I introduced her to everyone.

"Hi so what's your name Mr?" She asked turning to Luke.

He gave her that smile that just screamed out sexy.

"Hey I'm Luke Hemmings." Luke said in his deep rough voice. She swooned causing Jimmy to have to catch her.

"Yeah he has that affect on people." I laughed as Luke kissed my cheek and my mother composed herself.

She was blushing a crimson color especially when Luke kissed her hand.

I couldn't believe how happy I felt with my mom and friends here.
