woo hoo for teen fiction

The moment my sandals touched down on the ground, I knew it was set to be the best summer my little 19 year old body would experience. Not only was I done with school for three whole months, I was going to spend those tanning by the pool with my sister and best friends.

To complete our debut at Carter Hill Country Club, I was dressed in my cute Valentino flower romper and gladiator sandals, accompanied by Harry & Sierra. On the other side of me was my right hand woman; my twin Kayla. She opted for the softer approach, dressed in a cute halter neck crop top and shorts.

"Looking good, Kat." Ethan, the son of the owner of the uber fancy club smiled to me. I grinned back and advanced towards the sun chairs, taking a seat and sliding some sunglasses on.

"Relaxation." I breathed. "Is everybody okay?"

"Wonderful." Harry replied. "We should've came here last year."

"But you have to admit, Ay Napa was super good."

"Beyond good, it was amazing."

"That's because you chatted up every guy you saw." Kayla commented. "I can't wait until I swim, the pool looks so good."

"I'll save that for the night." I said quietly and she chuckled, squeezing my hand protectively. "The days will be saved for singing, dancing and fun. And the best thing is, nothing can spoil it."

Spoke too soon. And I realised I did so when the sunlight shining on my skin was blocked off.

I opened my eyes. "Long time no see."

"Shut the front door." I removed my sunglasses, feeling the glare on my face intensify the more I stared at his cheeky grin, to the point he became a thin line. My sister, on the other end, squealed and jumped, giving the blonde a hug. "What are you doing here?"

"Summer vacation, babes." Ross replied, then looked at my twin. "How are you?"

I rolled my eyes.

It was annoying how my family got to know his. Our parents work closely in this financial business, so our families are close but it's rare I see Ross, out of his siblings. If he isn't out, he's sleeping.

I prefer it that way. The less I see him, the calmer I am.

My dreams of a cool summer came crashing down.

"What are you doing?" I eyed him as he began to undress before me, to his swimwear. Sierra immediately nudged me the moment his shirt came flying off, thrown at me.

I cringed, mainly because it was drenched in sweat. In that exact split second, Ross did a back dive into the pool, spraying my legs with water.

He swam to the surface and to the side, a smug grin pasted on his face. "It's lovely."

"Good for you." I snapped, returning to my sun chair.

Kayla and Ross used to play soccer together, hence why she gets along with him far more than I ever will. They both share the same humorous side that I seem to lack of, and the amazing gift of getting on my very last nerve simultaneously when they are together.

I didn't hate him since the beginning of time. Believe it or not, we used to be fairly close best friends. That was until he pushed me out of our tree house and I fell 9 feet to a head cracked open and a broken arm.

I know he didn't mean it - he would never be that mean - but, I don't know. It's silly, but it made me very cautious.

"Aren't you glad that he's here- I mean, they..?" Kayla piped up.

"I mean sure, there goes my summer but at least now you can finally ask him out." My friends chorused an 'ooh' from behind me. Kayla shook her head.

She goes into full denial mode, but it's clear that she has a thing for him. He's not too far off her age, just a couple of years older.

They would be cute, but Ross around 24/7 would be hell. Just like the next three months.

Woo.
