Niall held his suitcase tight in his hand and walked forward. He was fearful, but excited at the same time. It’s been a long time, how would she look like now? Would she even be different? Had she changed? Niall hoped not, because he loved her exactly how she was before he had to leave.

Niall had to go on tour, and she had to stay and study to become the best doctor in the world someday.

He walked through the airport, feeling sick and anxious. She wouldn’t be there because he hadn’t told her he would come today. He wanted to surprise her.

He entered in the car with Harry, who would be driving him to Shannon’s house. Although he had spent a lot of time on tour, he still remembered the way to her house. He had been there so many times, had walked there for so many consecutive days.

He had forgotten how much he missed her, but now that he knew that he was going to see her again it hit him. Somehow he got used to her absence, despite the fact that he thought about her every day.

Gosh, he missed her smell. She always smelled different every day. Sometimes she smelled like roses, other times like summer, mint, and even mango. But his favorite smell was the smell of her bare skin, when she wasn’t wearing any perfume. He missed her lips too, her thin lips. The way they rubbed in his, he could still feel it. And her eyes, the hours he could stay lost in them. The way those blue eyes locked him making him feel relaxed. And her tiny hands. The way they used to touch his neck and give him goosebumps.

“We’re here, mate”

Niall looked at Harry, realizing that his eyes had been unfocused the whole time. Realizing again that we wanted to throw up.

He looked at Harry, looking for comfort.

“You’ll be fine” Harry assured him, smiling, noticing the fear in Niall’s eyes.

Niall sighed and got out of the car. It was now or never.

What if she wasn’t home? What if she was with another boy? What if she was mad at him? What if… Stop!, he told himself, you are thinking too much.

He stopped in front of her entrance door and gave a deep breath. He rang the bell. He could listen footsteps, the door began to open. And there she was. He forgot how tall she was, he had to look up to look her in the eyes.

“Shannon!” He said, feeling weird, because it didn’t sound like him, probably because he didn’t say her name for a long time.

She looked at him, her eyebrows raised in surprise, and then, a bright smile was formed in her mouth. He smiled too, and embraced her into a very tight hug. She threw her hands over his neck and kissed his ear. She was so close to him that he could feel her heart beating next to his, he could feel her chest going forwards and backwards as she breathed.

She wasn’t wearing any perfume, and he wondered whether she used to wear it just for him. He made a mental note to tell her not to do it.

She let go of him and dropped a rung to stay at his height.

“I missed you!” She said, a tear coming from her left eye. He put his hands him her face and wiped the tear. He had missed her voice too, the fragile voice of an angel. He outlined her lips with his thumb and then kissed her.

How he had dreamed for this moment, how he had waited to do this again.

There was no need to respond her after the passionate kiss he gave her. She smiled and he smiled back, and both knew that they were still deeply in love with each other. Nothing had changed.
