Song : Secret - The Pierces

***
I return to the kids and hang out with them reading to them and playing with them, Nathan by my side. I keep looking out for Lexis but he never returns. Nathan noticing states how shocked he was when Lexis showed up as he had finished his hours the period I was away. After wearing out our energy with the kids, Nathan gives me a ride back to my hall. I step into the room to the sight of Jess trying on clothes and Reid on her bed.

"Hera!" Reid calls out in glee like I just saved him from world war 3, I laugh.

"Do you guys shop everyday?" I ask dropping my bag and heading to my bed.

"Every other day," Jess says and I shake my head.

"You must have too much money," I say adding "to waste" in my thoughts.

"Not me, Reid's dad," Jess says.

"Speaking of dads, Lexis and Nathan are brothers?" I ask Reid.

They both immediately go silent and glance at each other.

"Lexis told you about that?" Jess says a worried and scared expression on her face.

"Oh no, Nathan told me," I say wondering why it bothered them that Lexis may have told me, though he didn't, was it some sort of big secret?

Their expressions relax but their postures stay stiff.

"Don't ever speak of it to Lexis," Reid says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Lexis doesn't like being associated with him," Reid replies.

"Shouldn't Nathan be the one not wanting the association and the angry one? Especially considering all Lexis has done to him?" I say getting slightly riled up.

Why should Nathan bear the brunt of hate when it should be the other way around? And why was it such a secret?

"I have no idea what Nathan said, and I personally could care less, but know this, being friends with someone Lexis hates never ends well," Jess says seriously and quickly places a smile on her face.

"This one!" She says smiling at Reid who nods smiling both obviously choosing to not speak about this again. I sigh. She and Lexis were definitely bipolar. It's understandable they'd take Lexis's side as he's their friend but I'm Nathan's friend too so I owe it to him to be on his team. And Lexis was no friend of mine so I refused to be forced with opinions that don't sit right with me at least not before I know what's so great about the secret of their relationship.

"So are you coming?" Reid says steering the topic away from family problems and loyalties.

"Let me guess another party?" I ask.

"See I told you I loved her! Our Hera is the smartest little munchkin there is," He says holding onto my cheeks with both hands. Like you would a cute child.

"I don't know, I mean the last two experiences were not the best, the first ended in my running out, the second changed to a race in which I was abandoned I don't know if I'm ready for more drama," I say.

Jess smiles.

"But that's what makes life! You need to experience these things so you don't waste your youth never having experienced it and wondering what if?" Jess says.

"Jess did you even attend class since we resumed?" I ask attempting to change the topic.

"Yes I did and don't change the topic! You should come, Tonight is different, it's at the the beach house," Jess says killing my attempt at changing the topic.

"Whose beach house?" I ask.

"Why... Lexis of course,"Jess says dragging me up to my third trip to hell.
