I looked up. There was a small man in a floral shirt stood in front of me on the opposite side of the table.

"Hey, I'm Tyler," he smiled and offered his hand out, leaning slightly towards me, "Am I safe to assume you're Ava?"

I stood up and leaned towards him to shake his hand, "Yes, and I'm so glad to finally meet you! I really enjoy your music, Guns For Hands is one of my favourite songs!"

I heard a slight chuckle from near the top end of the table. The guy in the Thrasher hoodie with the pink hair saw me looking at his direction and immediately looked away. "And this is Josh."

I nodded and began to sit down as Tyler and Josh sat opposite.

Dave smiled after greeting the guys. "So now that we've all seen each other in real life and not just as photos on Facebook, it's time we get down to business and see how we're going to arrange everything."

Tyler smiled and made a serious face. "How long have you been working as a technician?"

"I started working professionally when I was 18, so 5 years, I have plenty of experience though as I've been assisting bands with their set ups since I was 14."

Tyler asked questions about where I had graduated, how I had become interested in this particular career, who I aspired to be like and so forth. He seemed like he was genuinely interested in my responses and asked questions accordingly.

Josh on the other hand seemed so disinterested in everything that was going on. Between typing on his phone and looking at the clock that hung behind my head. It felt as if he couldn't wait to get out of the room and get this over with. I tried to ignore it, I didn't need anything else to worry about.

So I smiled and spoke with Tyler. I could feel a pair of eyes on me, but every time I turned to look at him, Josh was staring at his phone, his fingers moving over the screen with lightening speed.

"Well, I've asked about everything that I need to right now and I'm excited to bring you on board," Tyler announced he was satisfied with the interview, "Josh?"

Josh perked up at the mention of his name. Putting his phone back in his pocket for the first time since walking in the room, Josh nodded.

"Yeah, seems good, no questions to ask right now." It was as if he was trying to ignore me sitting there, and instead focus all of his energy on paying attention to Tyler and Dave.

Dave handed over two contracts, all four of us signed the contracts. "Have you moved into your house yet?"

"Not yet, but I'm moving some stuff today and tomorrow. I'll hopefully be living there by Friday." I shrugged, I needed to get the painting done today if I wanted to move in fully in the next 3 days.

"Well we would be happy to help, right Josh?" It was only then I'd noticed Josh had been staring at me. He shook himself back to reality and nodded, smiling slightly.

"Yeah, anything to help you settle in better."

Maybe he wasn't as bad as the first impression made him appear.
