Chapter 44: Never Blood

Yoshi and Shen, with Miwa in her arms, stood outside the dojo, not facing each other.

"I am sorry, Shen. You and Miwa are my life. Without you, I am a shadow," Yoshi said.

"Yoshi, I understand your loyalty to the clan," Shen replied.

"Father is growing worse. The dojo is all we have left," Yoshi remarked.

"You have so much more than that, Yoshi," Shen responded, holding a flower by his hand.

"My love for you and Miwa burns inside my heart, brighter than all the stars in the universe," Yoshi told her, letting his forehead rest upon hers.

"Pathetic. I will not abide by this dishonor," Saki snapped, getting the couple's attention.

"Saki," Shen said in shock.

"Shen, I ask you one last time. Make the right choice," Saki demanded.

"I have already made it," Shen answered, stepping behind Yoshi.

Saki growled at this, knowing Shen didn't want to be with him.

"Take Miwa and go, Shen," Yoshi instructed.

"But, Yoshi, Saki, please! You are brothers," Shen insisted.

"No, we were never blood," Saki growled.

"Neither is Pōru. And he stood with you and Yoshi since childhood," Shen pointed out.

"He is no different than Yoshi," Saki said furiously.

"Shen, go now," Yoshi urged gently.

She obeyed then looked back at her husband, who smiled at her in reassurance.

"How can one love and hate someone so fiercely?" Saki asked, readying his claws he had attached to his knuckles.

"If your desire is to fall by my hand, brother so be it," Yoshi said with his hands behind his back.

Saki charged and the fight that would last for over 15 years started.

Meanwhile, the turtles started laughing evilly as the ninjas were in defensive positions but still showed fear.

"Booyakasha!" Mikey said evilly then added a sinister laugh.

The ninjas spoke in Japanese of what to be aware of with yokai and tossed cucumbers. Mikey ate one of them and loved it.

"I'm starting to get a taste for these things," he said.

"That's right, ninja. We yokai will steal all of your souls through your butt!" Leo announced and laughed sinisterly.

Even Mikey went up to one and tickled one of the ninjas' butts to scare him. Then all of them were gone.

"'Through your butt'?" Raph asked like it was stupid.

"What? That comes from real Japanese legend," Leo said.

"I hate to say it, but that's actually true," Jamie chuckled from the tree.

"Come on, let's head for the dojo," Leo instructed and they were off.
