Chapter 14: Your Lips

"Okay ka lang?" tanong sa'kin ni Russel nung nakalabas na kami nila Wayne mula sa kwarto. I smiled at him.

"Oo, okay lang ako" sagot ko sa kanya

"Magaling siya. Sinaksak niya yung lalaki" pasok naman ni Kurt and to my shock he hugged me. Hindi nagtagal napangiti na lang ako and just hugged him back also.

When I looked back at Russel he's looking at me with widened eyes "Totoo yung sinasabi niya? You really stabbed someone?" he asked me in a still surprised tone. Sasagot sana ako pero dumating na si Blaise.

"Yes. And apparently hindi lang pala tayo rito ang may alam sa self defense" sabi niya kay Russel then he looked at me. "Kurt, can I have her back now? I'll take her home" he said gently kay Kurt na nakayakap pa rin sa'kin.

Kumawala naman sa'kin si Kurt but before completely departing from me humalik muna siya sa pisngi ko.

Napangiti na lang ako habang si Blaise at Russel naman ay napailing lang.

"So.. saan na tayo pupunta?" tanong ko kay Blaise nung wala na si Kurt.

"Away from here" he said at hinatak na ako paalis. Lumingon ako para sana magpaalam sa mga barkada niya pero nakalayo na kami kaagad. Halos kaladkarin niya nga ako. Seriously, what's the fuss?

Tinahak namin yung daan na dinaanan din namin kanina so we went back here in the convenience store. Kumuha siya ng dalawang canned beer mula sa ref then we proceed sa counter para bayaran niya yun. Nung matapos na kami, sumakay na kami ulit sa sasakyan niya at tuluyan nang umalis. Tahimik siya which surprises me. Naka focus lang siya sa kalsada and can't even look at me for a bit.

"May problema ba tayo?" tanong ko sa kanya. At that, he looked at me then he smiled.

"You've done so much for me today then you were almost hurt because of me. I just feel bad about that" he said

Natawa ako "I'm okay. I can protect myself, Blaise" I reassured him. Still, he didn't smile at that.

"Tama lang din siguro nga na tumutol ang parents ni Maoi sa amin. They're right. Ipapahamak ko lang ang anak nila" sabi pa niya

Hindi ko alam pero bigla akong nakaramdam ng inis sa sinabi niyang yun.

"There is danger everywhere Blaise and you can't stop it from happening" I said almost snapping

"But the probability na mapahamak siya is very high kung kasama niya ako. Unlike when we're not together. She's safer"

Napailing na lang ako Russel's words ring in my ears. Kung tama ang pagkakaalala ko galit si Blaise kay Maoi for aborting their child isn't he? But damn, he sounds that he still loves her the same.

Maoi doesn't even deserve that for heaven's sake!

Hindi na kami nagpansinan dahil sa totoo lang, galit ako sa kanya. I don't even know where this anger is coming that's why I am frustrated. Surely, hindi naman ako nagseselos. Yet I don't know what Blaise did to make me feel like this. Siguro dahil natatangahan ako sa kanya? Siguro dahil naiinis ako that he's still protective of her despite of what she did to him?

"Nandito na tayo" he said snapping me out of my reverie. Napataas ang kilay ko when I realized na dinala niya ako sa ganitong lugar. An abandoned warehouse. May mga nakabukas naman na ilaw so I am able to survey the place. There are graffitis on the wall yet the place is surprisingly clean.
