Chapter 88: Ready and Eager

Hindi ko mapigilan maging proud as I read the articles about the chicken restaurant that Blaise opened recently.

He named it "Poultrygeist" that I honestly think, witty. It's just the first week of it pero marami na kaagad ang nakapunta roon who liked the foods very much. No wonder that it's making rounds in social media. Dagdagan pa ng kagwapuhan niya na marami ang nakapansin kaya mas dinarayo.

Halos mapatalon ako when my phone started to ring. Kinuha ko yun kaagad and saw that it's Blaise calling. Hindi ako nagdalawang isip na sagutin yun.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!" salubong ko sa kanya na kinakantahan siya.

He laughed "Thank you so much. I called to invite you for my party later kung wala kang gagawin. My birthday celebration and victory party na rin for the successful opening of Poultrygeist"

My heart leaped at that. "Sure.. anong oras ba at saan?" I casually asked though deep inside I am really excited. It's been how many weeks since the last time we saw each other at yun pa yung nandito si Raffy. I damn miss him so much already.

"Sa penthouse ng Sparkle Hotel. Seven pm. Gusto sana kita sunduin kaya lang I am really busy so I asked Wayne instead to pick you up. Is it okay?"

"Oo naman. Habang wala ka, naging close kami nina Wayne at nung dalawa pa so I really won't mind" I chuckled

Hindi siya sumagot. That's when the sense of the words I just said hit me.

Magsasalita sana ako pero naunahan niya ako.

"I'll see you later" he said then the line went dead.

Nakapagpasya ako na umalis nang mas maaga sa flower shop so I will have an ample time to prep up. For sure, maraming babae roon na aaligid sa kanya so I have to be competitive enough to catch his attention.

Pagkagaling sa shop dumiretso ako rito sa mall to find a gift for him. It took me a lot of time until I decided to get a black silk tie for him and a wrist watch.

Pag-uwi sa bahay I took a nap then when I woke up naligo na ako kaagad. Medyo napahaba kasi ang idlip ko, damn it.

Usually, I don't have difficulties in picking the perfect dress for me but this time is different. Magaganda naman lahat ng dresses ko but I want something that will make him drop his jaw kapag nakita ako.

After what it seems like ten years, I've finally decided to wear an off shoulder white dress na hanggang kalahati ng hita ko ang haba and paired it with heels with the same color.

Mabuti na lang din talaga at natuto na ako mag make up. I remember how I was forced to wear make up during college days as a requirement sa personality development subject namin. My professor threatened to fail me if I don't do any make up. Natakot ako nun dahil varsity ako na may minamaintain na grade kaya kahit labag sa loob ko ay nagpaturo ako kay Trina.

But then when I graduated I realize na hindi rin naman pala masama. It usually comes in handy if I have to talk with a client or kagaya nito that I want to impress someone.

"Whoa!" Kurt's eyes widened when I opened the door for them. They're also wearing fancy suits.

"Matatapos na ako. I'm just going to wear my shoes at kunin ang gift ko para kay Blaise" I told them at dali-daling bumalik sa kwarto para kunin ang mga kailangan ko dahil anong oras na rin.

Saktong alas syete nang dumating kami at medyo marami-rami na rin ang mga tao at karamihan ay mga taong matunog ang pangalan sa business industry. Hindi ko pa nakikita si Blaise.
