When I correct people, and they say, "I'll never get it, it's difficult, and I'm stupid!" it really fucking ticks me off, for a few different reasons.

Once someone calls themselves stupid, they typically stop trying or caring. Like for fucks sake, if you said "It might take me a while, but I know I'll get it!" you could probably do it. This is called the growth mindset, which is proven to work, so why don't you fucking use it instead? I mean, it's simple.

Like my Aunt, who is part of that generation who typically was transphobic and homophobic has said, "It might be difficult, especially if you don't pass that well, but I'm going to try my hardest."

Heck, my nine year old brother said that he doesn't exactly understand it, heck, he even said it was weird, but he fucking tries, and he gets it right most of the time.

Same with my sister, who has a learning disability, and is in a special education program. Like geez, she has a hard time doing basic math, but when I asked her to switch pronouns and my name, she changed it immediately, and she has known me for the same amount of time my grandma and mom *the ones who say this phrase the most* have, so that's not even a valid excuse.

I also feel like it's an excuse for transphobia? Kinda? I mean, I don't think it is transphobic, but... From how I see it, it's basically a mask to hide what you're really saying, "I don't like this change, and it's difficult, so I'm not going to even try."

Also, like said before, LITTLE KIDS have got it. I know a 5 year old girl, who gets it immediately, the students who know at my school, and have proccessed it have got it down. My eight year old brother has it, and he's sometimes a rude, homophobic, *even tho my gaydar is still going off* and transphobic piece of crap.

Idk, I'm sorry for all the rambling and complaining today, I've been really salty about gender issues recently cause of stupid people saying stupid shit.
