Today's my date. And I couldn't help but feel uneasy. Leo and I didn't even go on a date when we were dating. The making out was the best though. I miss his lips. I mentally slapped myself in the face. I can't think about that. I need to get over him.
I sighed deeply, before picking out a dress to wear. I picked a red one which was my favorite dress actually, since it looked nice against my skin.
I put on some earrings and perfume before grabbing my purse and opening my bedroom door.
Immediately I saw Leo in the living room, he stood up quickly and I closed the door behind me.
"You're going out?" He asked.
I nodded, standing awkwardly in front of my door.
He seemed awkward also, "You look nice." He stuttered.
"Thank you." I smiled, before making my way to the door.
"Have fun." Leo called out," But not too much fun!" He quickly said. I couldn't help but laugh at that before leaving.
-
It's been two hours, and it seems like Noah stood me up. Honestly, after he seemed to excited? I don't get it.
I sat down on a bench in defeat and I sighed, looking up at the sky. Guys are the worst. I clicked the floor in my flats and I groaned.
I have the worst luck with guys, huh? I looked down, suddenly feel a bit of rain overhead.
Honestly, this is too dramatic.
I sighed, letting the rain start pouring over me, soaking my dress and my hair. I shouldn't care this much. I wanted to get over Leo. And Noah stood me up. So what does that even mean to me? Why do I feel so defeated?
I was in deep thought until I saw some shoes on the ground in front of me, suddenly not feeling the rain anymore. I looked up at the person.
It was Leo, holding an umbrella over me. He looked down at me, before tilting his head.
"What is a pretty girl doing all by herself when she's supposed to be on a date?" He asked. I looked away.
"Do you have to make fun of me for it? Geez." I stood up angrily, before starting to walk away. Leo jogged up, putting the umbrella over both of us. He was looking for me for an emotion, but my face was stern and mad.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." Leo started. I didn't say anything.
"That guys the worst." Leo mumbled.
I didn't even care about that guy. I just wanted to get over you, dumbo! And you're not even helping with all of your niceness and charms! I wanted to scream at him.
"Tell you what, let's go get something to drink?" Leo offered.
I stopped walking. I could use a drink or two.
"Okay." I answered.
-
Leo and I sat in a club, the music was blasting loud and I was already on my second drink.
"Cheers. To the biggest jerk ever." Leo clinked our glasses. I rolled my eyes playfully, before drinking. Leo drank also, but stopped after a little bit, looking surprised I was still drinking.
I put my drink down.
"What? You think a girl can't drink?" I raised an eyebrow.
Leo laughed," I was just surprised. In high school you never drank."
I shrugged. I was different now. He had to know that.
Leo looked over at the dancing and he nodded his head.
"Want to dance?" He yelled over the music.
"What?"
"Want to dance?" He got closer.
I shook my head.
"C'mon." He stood up and grabbed my arm anyway, before pulling me.
"What? No! Leo!" I tried to cling onto the chair and he laughed.
"Have some fun." He stopped pulling me and instead looked at me with pleading eyes.
I groaned. I'm still not over him. How great.
"Fine." I mumbled, letting go. He pulled me to the dance floor. He stopped in the middle of the dance floor and he grabbed my hands, intertwining them. He swayed side to side to the music and looked down at me with a smile. Ugh I was so into him. I hated it. He broke up with me. I shouldn't be feeling like this. I swayed side to side to the music nodding my head to the beat. We danced for a little bit, holding hands, and after five songs, my feet were starting to hurt. Leo seemed to be fine though.
"I'm going to the ladies room." I said over the music.
"What?" He leaned closer.
"Im going to the ladies room!" I yelled louder.
He nodded, before I turned around and walked towards the bathroom.
-
I washed my face, looking in the mirror. I wasn't supposed to like Leo. This wasn't how it's supposed to be. It's been four years. I should be over it. I shook my head before walking out of the bathroom.
As soon as I walked out, I bumped into a guy before stumbling backwards.
The guy looked over at me with a flirty look and I gulped.
"What's a pretty girl like you doing here by yourself?" He walked towards me with a smirk. He was clearly drunk out of his mind. I walked backwards.
"I..." Is all I said.
"Tell you what. You and me at my house tonight." He said.
I backed all the way to the wall, and he leaned over me, trapping me in.
"I think not." I answered trying to get away. He grabbed me by the waist and pushed me up against the wall again. I winced in pain. He leaned forward getting close to my face.
"You smell great. Can't wait to see how you taste." He smirked.
"Get off me!" I pushed him away and he stumbled backwards.
"Bitch." He scoffed, he raised his hand to hit me, but then Leo appeared, grabbing onto his wrist and stepping in front of me.
"Don't touch her." Leo said sternly. He was clenching his jaw tightly, obviously trying not to hit the man.
The guy yanked his hand away from Leo.
"We were just having a little bit of fun. The little bitch didn't know what was coming her way." The guy laughed.
Leo gave out a fake laugh, before punching the guy in the jaw. I flinched, totally not expecting that. The guy stumbled backwards, into the wall behind him. He quickly charged towards Leo and Leo pushed me away. Clearly he was stronger. Leo was not the buff type. I stumbled sideways, as Leo got pushed against the wall by the other guy.
-
"You shouldn't have helped me." I said while helping Leo onto the couch. He sat down and I started looking for my first aid kit. Leo's lip was cut open, followed by a slight bruise on his cheek. I felt terrible. I should've done something. Taken action. Handled it myself.
"I could've handled it myself." I said. Leo fixed himself.
I pulled out the kit and I made my way to him, "Why did you help me anyway?" I furrowed his eyesbrows.
"I..." Leo sighed," I couldn't just watch."
I looked over his face and I sighed. I hated seeing him hurt.
"Just promise me that if I'm in trouble, then you won't get yourself hurt in the process." I asked quickly.
Leo was going to say something else but I tilted his chin up, grabbing something to wipe off the blood.
"I can't promise that." He mumbled. I didn't say anything, but rather just wiped the blood of his face.
"Stay still." I mumbled, focusing on his lip.
He stared at me, not knowing what else to do.
"This might hurt a little." I said, before putting some rubbing alcohol on it. He winced in pain.
"Sorry." I whispered. He seemed to smile at my gentleness.
"Gosh, how did you stay alive without me all these years?" He joked.
"I had Johnny." I answered without thinking. Leo didn't seem to care though. Why would he?
"Did you two date after I left?" He asked curiously.
I shook my head.
"Not right after. It took about two years. But him and I dated for a while." I shrugged, putting the bloody tissue in the trash can.
"Why'd you break up? If you don't mind me asking." Leo leaned back on the couch.
"I just didn't like him that way." I shrugged again.
"In what way?" Leo tilted his head.
I got a little bandage and I tilted Leo's head up again.
"I don't know. Him and I are great friends and all and he's such a great guy." I sighed, before leaning back after applying the bandage.
He looked at me confusingly.
"But I just couldn't have those kinds of feelings for him." I finished, putting my hands on Leo's shoulders.
He looked up at me, his eyes shining. I looked back, a slight smile on my face.
"Oh! I almost forgot." Leo smiled, he reached over me and pulled out a bag from under the couch. I looked at it confusingly and he laid down a couple of movies on the table.
I sat down next to him and I picked one of the movies up, examining it.
It's Titanic. I looked over at Leo.
"I don't know if you've seen any of my movies, so I rented some for us to watch."
I paused, looking down at the cover photo. I've never seen Titanic. Not because I didn't want to. It's because I never had time. Plus, it came out around the time me and Johnny were dating so I think it'd be a bit weird to see a movie of my ex boyfriend. But I wanted to watch it.
"Okay." I smiled. Leo's smile got brighter and he grabbed it from my hands, putting the CD in. And quickly grabbing a blanket and putting it over the both of us.
I sat away from him, on the opposite end of the blanket and he rolled his eyes playfully.
"Don't worry. I won't do anything to you." He laughed.
-
We were in the middle of the movie and Leo and I were drastically closer to each other than before. His arm was around my shoulders and my legs were on his lap. I had my finger to my lips as the scene where Jack first sees Rose naked.
I furrowed my eyebrows at Jacks reaction to Rose. About how nervous he was. This was awkward wasn't it?
I looked towards Leo through the corner of my eye and he was already looking at me for my reaction. He was smirking slightly.
"Does this make you uncomfortable?" He tilted his head.
"No." I answered honestly. My face started to grow hot.
It was okay to have a crush on Jack right? That doesn't mean that I have a crush on Leo. It's solely on Jack. Only Jack.
I nodded slightly to myself, trying to convince myself that it's not the same thing.
"What are you nodding about?" Leo laughed.
I paused, looking at the scene with Jack drawing Rose.
"Nothing." I laughed awkwardly.
-
It was at the end of the movie and Leo was asleep on my shoulder, all of his weight basically on me. I was trying hard not to cry at the scene of Jack dying. I felt tears running down my cheeks one by one almost one after the other. Jack shouldn't have died! There was room for the both of them on there! I sniffled and I tried hard to keep quiet at Leo asleep.
I heard Leo groan and he slowly sat up, before stretching. I quickly wiped my tears without him seeing and he looked over at me.
"Oh my gosh, are you crying?" He leaned towards me, his eyes wide.
"No." I shook my head, tears still going down my face.
He laughed at my answer and he pulled me into a hug.
"It's okay." He patted me on the back.
"Jack shouldn't have died. There was room on there for both of them." I cried.
I felt Leo's body laugh against mine. He probably thought I was weird. Here I was crying over a character he played, when the real deal is right in front of me.
"It's okay." He ran his hand through my hair. I pushed him slightly away and he pulled me again, this time making us both lay down on the couch.
I paused, seeing how close our faces were. His eyes were closed, ready to sleep. While my eyes were all red and puffy.
"What are you doing?" I asked him, his arms around me.
"Just lay down for a little bit. I'm tired." He scooted closer to me, putting his head in the crook of my neck.
I swear, I think Leo can hear my heartbeat from where he was.
I gulped, not really knowing where to put my hands.
Once Leo was asleep, I slowly started getting up, laying a blanket snuggly on him. Before I left, I scanned his face. I stood up to go to my room, when I heard a knock on my door. I furrowed my eyebrows. It's already two in the morning. Who'd be here?
I slowly walked to the door, and I opened it, revealing a man with broad shoulders.
"Can I help yo-"
He grabbed me and I squealed, before he put a napkin over my nose and mouth. I slowly started getting weaker and I passed out.
