Rome. Rome was so beautiful wasn't it?

I looked up at the buildings, feeling amazed. Every building looked so detailed and beautiful, as if every single area was a piece of art. I held my breath as I looked around. Was I really going to stay here for the next 3 months? What a dream come true!

"Hey." Eugene tapped me on my arm, getting me out of my dream. I looked over at him.

"Let's go to the hotel first. I'm tired." He suggested. I nodded, looking up at the buildings again in awe. Eugene laughed, before grabbing onto my wrist and pulling me along.
-
I laid down on my bed, which honestly was a bit smaller than I hoped but that didn't matter. I loved this place in general. I reached into my pocket, pressing the power button to my phone to turn it back on.

I wait patiently, until I felt my phone vibrate.

I looked over at it, scanning the notifications to find Leo's name.

8 missed calls from Leo

My finger hovered over his name. Why did he call me? Was he in trouble? I was about to click when there was a knock at my door.
I put my phone slowly down, leaving Leo's contact on the screen before standing up and walking towards the door.

I opened it and I smiled once I saw Eugene.

"Ready to go explore?" He raised his eyebrows.
I smiled even brighter.

"Yeah. Let me just get my camera." I said happily, running to grab my bag, leaving my phone on my bed.

I quickly got off the airplane and heading outside. Gosh, I didn't exactly think this through did I? I didn't bring any clothes, and I didn't even know where Marlie was. I looked around the streets, pausing at the sights. This place really was beautiful. I smiled, thinking of Marlie here. She must love it here...

I heard a few whispers from people as they walked past me, eyeing me as if they've seen me before. I tilted my cap further and I walked over towards a taxi.
-
I said a thanks to the driver as they drove away, leaving me in the middle of the city. If she's outside her hotel room, then I should find her here at least...

{Marlie's P.O.V}
"Woah!" I looked over at all of the delicious pastries as my mouth watered.

"Marlie." Eugene mumbled.

I looked up at him," Huh?"

"You're drooling." He laughed. I closed my mouth.

"Let's get some ice cream!" He happily said. I nodded in approval. There was so much more flavors then at normal ice cream shops were I lived.
-
"What do you want to do after this?" Eugene asked, licking his ice cream as we walked down the street.

I hummed as I thought. I really didn't know. Today was perfect already. I was honestly really thankful Eugene was here. Leo should be getting married right now, but Eugene made me keep my mind off it. At least, for now.

"I don't know. I don't want to do anything too serious since it's so late already. I'd rather savor every moment into small bits. You know?" I smiled over at him.

He nodded slowly, letting the lights illuminate our walkway.

His phone suddenly buzzed and he looked down at his phone, before smiling to himself.

"Oooo, is it a girl?" I teased him.

"Shut up." He laughed, still typing.

"Who is it? Do I know her?" I was smiling towards him.

"Its none of your business." He laughed again.

"So it is a girl?" I raised my eyebrows," You didn't deny it." I pointed a finger at him accusingly.

"It is." He nodded.

"Let me see then." I reached towards his phone, but he placed it higher out of my reach.

"Eugene! That's no fair!" I groaned, reaching over him.

He lifted it up higher and I jumped, barely grazing the phone with my fingertips.

"It's not my fault you're short." Eugene laughed. I rolled my eyes, before jumping one last time and landing on my ankle wrong.

"Ow!" I winced in pain, falling forward and Eugene grabbing onto my arm to stop me. My ice cream fell to the ground and I looked at it with sad eyes.

"What's wrong?" He asked, looking concerned.

"My ice cream..." I mumbled, looking down at it.

Eugene looked at where I was looking and he rolled his eyes.

"Does anything else hurt?" He mumbled, raising his eyebrow towards my leg.

"Oh right, my ankle." I mumbled, looking down at it.

"Here." He let me wrap my arm around him and he pulled me towards a nearby bench. I sat down and he kneeled down next to my foot, examining my ankle closely.

"Does that hurt?" He moved it one way.

"A little..." I mumbled.

"I think you'll be fine." He smiled reassuringly towards me," Let's just sit here for a bit so it'll feel better."  I smiled back.

"Honestly, leave it to you to hurt your ankle on the first day in a foreign city." He shook his head in disbelief.

"Shut up." I nudged him while laughing.

"Do you want to share my ice cream?" He suggested. I smiled.

{Leo's P.O.V}
I smiled as I heard Marlie's voice. She has to be around here somewhere. I looked around eagerly, imagining how our reunion would be. I'd finally have her in my arms. I smiled to myself, walking past a corner. I paused, watching as Eugene helped Marlie sit down on a bench. They laughed together happily.
Maybe I wasn't supposed to be here. Maybe I just needed to let her go for now. She seemed happy, and that's how it should be. If I came here, wouldn't that be weird?
I nodded to myself, giving a last good look at Marlie who nudged Eugene And he laughed.

Bye Marlie.
