Felix has made his decision.

He couldn’t keep on fooling himself.

Early morning, Felix walked around the streets, passing by a school, the municipal hall, the church, and many houses and business places. It was perhaps around six in the morning, as the sun is not yet too hot out. He must’ve been walking for a while now since his stomach grumbled, and Felix looked around to see if there was a bakery nearby.

He saw one, and it was open. He was about to walk up to the place when he felt a tap on his shoulder, and without even thinking about it, Felix turned around, and was met with a punch to the face, sending him to the ground, unconscious.

“Siya nga ang lalaking iyon.”

“He’s really that guy.”

“Umaali-aligid siya kay binibining (Y/N). Ang nakakapagduda, hindi siya mukhang Kastila.”

“He’s always hanging around Lady (Y/N). The suspicious thing is, he doesn’t look like a Spaniard.”

“Baka isa siyang espiya! Isang taong mula sa ibang lupain na nagpapanggap lamang na isang dayuhan para tayong lahat ay dakpin!”

“Maybe he is a spy! A person from another land pretending to be a tourist to capture us all!”

“Kailangang mawala siya sa mundong ito!”

“He needs to disappear from this world!”

Felix groaned at the sound of loud and unfamiliar voices swirling around him. His head was hurting, and he had trouble opening his eyes. When he did, though, he felt a stinging sensation around his arms and legs, and once he had adjusted his vision, he saw himself tied up, standing on an old wooden chair. Felix began to panic, and what caused him more nervousness is the feeling of a rope tied around his neck, and the voices of those around him shouting something repeatedly.

“PATAYIN SIYA! PATAYIN! PATAYIN! PATAYIN SIYA!”

“KILL HIM! KILL! KILL! KILL HIM!”

Felix was not that dumb to not understand what these people were chanting. He started to panic, looking around to see unfamiliar faces of angry people, all looking like they wanted him gone.

And he was not wrong.

Felix felt the tears springing to his eyes, and it took him strength to will them back into his eyes. What has he done to deserve this?
