"Our souls are mirrored—I have found my better half."

If there was one absurd thing (Y/N) couldn't believe while living in this world, it was the soulmate thingy that required a flower tattoo on the wrists of two people connected by the invisible red string of fate. It started off as a belief that circulated generation among generation, believing that two people that were meant for each other were both born with a flower tattoo. It was said that the flower was the girl's favorite, and its color was the boy's favorite. If there were two same flowers of the same color between two pairs of ideal lovers, there was a tiny little detail, like an extra leaf, thorn or petal, to make the flower a one of a kind design.

With this being said, that certain flower is an indication if one has found her soulmate. It was that the flowers will both brighten in color at the same time, in the same space. But then, if one of the two lovers are struck with misfortunes, such as death and an incurable disease, the flowers disperse and fade away, until one dies.

This was realized by the young Lee (Y/N) in her middle teenage years. When she had turned sixteen, a rose miraculously growed on her left wrist, the color of the petals were a light beige, and there was a small kangaroo print just beside the stem of the flower. Upon seeing the flower, she giggled, suspecting that her soulmate has a thing for kangaroos.

But then, when she stepped into second year of high school, she started to experience high fevers accompanied by bright red rashes, severe migraines, frequent vomiting, sometimes stained with blood, and gradual loss of body mass. It all happened in a span of four weeks, which badly required medical help from experts.

After a few tests that was ran on her after she got into the hospital, (Y/N) was diagnosed with a very rare disease the doctors called the Flare, a disease that was said to be very dangerous. According to the test results and from the reports of the doctors who encountered the same disease, the Flare attacks the brain of the victim and eats the brain cells ans the fluids of the skull so quickly, quicker than anticipated, and it was said to have developed inside the person's body, sending a few more viruses from the parent virus to attack every nerve in the body. Its cause is still unknown, but it was said to be deadly, and one thing is for certain—there was no cure yet, and the person inflicted with the Flare is likely to die, perhaps within eight weeks, if he or she is lucky.

In this regard, the whole family was more than devastated. They started to call for help, sending messages throughout every social media application they could find, collecting funds and donations, and anything that could financially help (Y/N). But, the girl was not having any of it. Despite being trapped in the hospital, she still finds life beautiful, and chooses to look at the brighter side than sit around and be depressed about her disease.
