The satisfying familiar click of his camera was all he needed to be happy. Felix smiled as the sound resembled Beethoven’s music, something that he could only achieve through an actual camera and not from a phone. The Polaroid camera he held in his hands was a gift he had received for his birthday from his parents, and although it was a bit outdated and old-fashioned, he was grateful for it, for it was everything he could have hoped for. It was what had started off his passion, and it had continued ever since.

As he stared down at the glowing city of Sydney, his smile widened, his fingers softly caressing the shutter of his camera. He had always wanted to pursue a photography career, and he had always thought of his hometown as his stepping stone. And after his parents have allowed him to abandon their dreams for him to be a psychologist to do photography, he was more than ecstatic to know, and began planning for his trip to another place to explore and photograph.

One day, he decided to bring it with him from Australia to South Korea. There were so many beautiful cities and panoramic sceneries, and Felix was sure he would find some gorgeous places to photograph. Busan was the first place he thought of visiting, before he would board a train to Seoul where he would spend a few more days to take pictures of different things, the buildings, flowers, trees, anything that struck his fancy. Felix smiled as he thought of different things he would do during his stay in Korea, and was sure that he would enjoy it here, with his camera by his side.

Day one.

Felix had found a particularly nice book and coffee shop, an alcove of the door making for a picture perfect snapshot. He stood back a few feet from the store, making sure that he was still on the sidewalk, and took a picture of it before turning back to look around the street. He was lucky it was still a bit early in the morning so there were a few people, but it was gradually increasing, so he knew he had to move fast if he wanted to take more pictures. Then, after a few more pictures here and there, he looked through the viewer of his camera to search for a few more good shots, putting in a new batch of fresh film.

He then boarded the bus to Haedong Temple, eyes wide and mouth hanging agape at the beautiful scenery. There were a lot of people there, but he was sure he would capture many pretty pictures to add to his collection at home and treasure. Suddenly, while walking around holding his camera, Felix felt himself crash against something, causing him to gasp dramatically—being the extra person he is—and fall to his knees from the surprising impact. His camera scattered a few feet away from him, and his eyes widened.

Immediately looking up to see the perpetrator, ready to throw a tantrum and lecture them about looking where they were going, he was met with the face of a beautiful young woman, perhaps around his age, staring back at him with pretty orbs. She mirrored his shocked expression, yet mixed with guilt. She stuttered out an apology and held out a hand to help him up. Felix took her hand to pull and brush himself off.

Bad move.

When he tried to stand up, he accidentally put all weight on his hand, pulling the girl down with him. And, as cliché as it seemed, time seemed to slow down like the one in the movies, and she fell on his chest. They both squeaked out of surprise, and the girl pushed herself up to look at the stranger.
