Having to go to college is a big step for someone like Felix. As a child, he had to learn the basics of life with the help of his parents. He learned how to earn money of his own to support his daily necessities. During his high school days, he had been a working student to add his income to his allowance, and so he wouldn't depend much on his parents. Although they were a middle class family and pretty much have their needs and wants, Felix was taught to learn how to do things on his own so that he wouldn't be burdened when it comes to finding a job in the future.

And he was lucky he was taught those skills.

It was a normal day for a college student named Lee Felix. He was walking his way towards his first class when he received a message from his father. Quickly taking out his phone, he read the text that was sent to him.

"Letter?" he asked himself. "What letter?"

As if on cue, his friend Chan went up to him, a creepy smile on his face and a crisp white envelope in his hands.

"Hey," Chan says, "your father wants me to give this to you."

"What is it?" Felix asked.

Chan shrugged, "You tell me. I didn't look at it."

Felix took the envelope and opened it, taking the folded paper from inside it. He read the contents, and his jolly aura was destroyed in a matter of minutes.

Quickly, he turned on his phone and dialled his father's number. When he picked up, he Felix didn't even bother to say hello.

"Bankrupt?" he breathed out. "Why?"

"Son," his father sighed, "our business is sinking. The investors backed out, and the supplier is demanding back the pay. The bookstores have all found new suppliers with more books and faster shipment dates. We can't compete with that, Felix. We—"

Feeling frustrated, he pressed the red button and ended the call. Although it was not in his attitude to be rude—especially to elders—he was angry. At himself, at his parents, at the investors, at the retailers, and with his life.

Chan smiled sadly at him and patted his friend's shoulder, "It'll all pass soon, mate."

"When?" he asked exasperatedly. "When will it pass?"

"Soon," he soothed Felix, "soon. Because I know, for a fact, the Divinity wouldn't give such trial if you couldn't overcome it."

Just then, the bell rang, and Chan led the two of them to their first class.

"Fucking hell," Felix cursed and threw his phone case to the nearest wall, kicking off his shoes as he leaned back onto the lockers. It was afternoon, a few minutes after his last class, and it seemed like the perfect time to sulk about his now shitty life.
