Story 62: Voltron AU (Part 3)

Conman

Connor slammed his hands on his tech board.

"COME ON, COME ON! I NEED TO GET BACK IN THERE!"

Connor waited for a few minutes, but no one outside or the lion would even help. All Connor could do was helplessly watch as Evan, Zoe, and Alana fought in battle.

And he couldn't even spot the blue ion in his sight.

"Hello? Hello!? Can anybody hear me?!" Connor screamed.

And again, no one responded.

Connor took deep breaths as he gripped his handles and kept his mind on the lion. He took some more breaths until his breathing was more or less stabilized.

"Come on Red," Connor muttered, "I really need your help. They all need me back on the field. Please."

Connor flung his eyes open as the light in his lion flickered on, the buttons and keys on his board becoming noticeable.

"-nor?! Jared?! Respond to your coms!"

"Yeah, I'm back! Red lost her power, but she's all good now!"

"Oh, thanks god! We really need you help in here no-AH!"

Connor looked around with his lion as he spotted the blue lion- lifeless, floating around behind them, with no power whatsoever.

"Connor! We- AH!- we really need you out here with Jared!" He heard Evan demand.

"I-" Connor looked side to side, war to the blue lion, side to side, war to the blue lion. "Guys, can you back me and Jared up for a while? I need to see what's going on in the blue lion."

"Are you insane?! With all these ships?!" Zoe shrieked.

"Yeah, I don't really think this is such a great idea! We're under a lot of pressure!" Alana replied.

"Just trust me!" Connor screamed, unbuckling himself from his seat as he bounced his way out of his lion.

Connor gripped his bayard as Red opened it's mouth, giving permission for Connor to leave and get his teammate. He activated his boosters as he flew across to the blue lion.

"Connor, be careful, what your doing could be considered a suicide mission." Evan said.

Connor flew, keeping his head on his concern for his teammate- even if there were blasts and zaps, explosions and screams everywhere. He never liked these noises- but Evan always found a way to cheer him up from it.

The bottom of Connor's feet hit the top of the Blue Lion's nose. Connor activated his jet pack again and flew to in front of Blue's mouth.

"Please, let me i-"

The mouth opened immediately.

Connor didn't question it as he flew inside with a worrying speed.

One thing was questioning: there was zero-gravity even inside.

Connor was terrified. The lights were all turned off; and the seat was empty. The seatbelt looked like it had been ripped off.

"JARED!" Connor screamed, looking around.

And then he saw a motionless figure floating around up almost to the roof.

Connor flew up and caught Jared in his arms. He investigated his face. The left side of his face was bruised- and it wasn't no light bruise- it was dark purple, almost black. His breaths were slow, which meant he wasn't dying- but the blow must have done a number on him.

"EVAN! I GOT JARED!" Connor screamed, frantic.

"We're still in battle! Just get him to your lion and fight there, we can't afford this!" Evan groaned as his lion took a small hit.

Connor nodded, but then realized that he couldn't be seen. "Gotcha, team leader."

Connor slid his arms under Jared's knees and his back and gripped him. This was certainly gonna be harder as he held someone else's body.

"Jared, if you can hear me, now would be a great time."

Connor flew out of the mouth, Jared held tightly against his chest plate. He rapidly went to his own lion, not risking Jared getting hurt another time.

As Connor made it to his lion he made himself twist his position so he would fall on his back. The gravity slammed him down surely, but Jared was still knocked out.

"Jared, Jared please." Connor was on the verge of tears.

Not his teammate.

Not his friend.

Not his crush.

Connor angrily took off both of their helmets and kissed Jared passionately. He missed his jokes, he missed his sarcasm, he missed him.

"..I know my looks were something."

Connor started crying and laughed as Jared opened his eyes halfway.

"You idiot." Connor laughed.
