I was a mess. Pure mess. Nothing was there but a demon inside if my head. Tying to grab control over me. Trying to make me someone who I wasn't. Making me do things I had never done before. Do things I had never thought I would do. It was overwhelming, but at the same time..it made me relax and feel as if I was making a good choice.

Then one day. A light came. I was at a party and was drunk, while smoking. Talking to people and having what I thought at the time was a ball. In the far far corner I saw a girl, standing alone as I slurred over to her. The moment she made contact with me was when I felt my heart stop.

As I tried speaking in my best sober voice I realised how drunk I was. For the first time in months I had realised what I had been doing. I remember that later that night she took me home after making a few calls to my band mates, asking where I lived so she could take me home and return to the safely.

After that we had become good friends. But, I had never wanted to be just friends. I wanted to be more than that. She was my first priority. My first waking call. She was the reason I had realised what I was doing. And she...helped me through it with her light.

She was the reason I had changed. The whole entire universe had changed through me within the first contact. The first glance. I felt as if before I had met her, the demons were winning over my control. But, when I had met her, the demons were going away with her helping me through it.

After a bit of regaining myself, I decided to go for it. Asking her out. She, to my surprise, had said yes. She had helped me through stuff during our relationship as well as I did her. We were perfect matches for each other. Perfect mates.

As I felt the time to be ready, and I went down on one knee.

I asked her the question that would answer our fate. And as I did, I saw the tears dwell up in her eyes, as her hands were covering her mouth. She gave a sight nod as a yes.

As I stood up, I couldn't help but be thankful for what I did with my past. As the tears dwelled up in my eyes as I reached out to hug her. Or kiss her at least.

I felt her soft lips on mine as I smiled in the kiss. This was the girl that saved me, that made me the man who I was today.
