CHAPTER 33 — Fitting

I had my first lunch in the Philippines and I was having it with my best friend, Celine for the first time as well after six years.

The food was prepared by the maids and it was really delicious. Before, mom loved to cook Filipino food for us in the states but it was different. I really missed the taste of the original ones. I missed everything.

There was no changes inside the house. The whole first floor was still the same from how we left it.

I haven't been in the second floor yet that's why I'm not sure if there are any changes there. I missed my old room. I wonder if it still looked the same.

"You took business, hija?" mom asked Celine while the three of us were eating.

Namamangha kong nilingon ang matalik kong kaibigan. The way she talked shows how much changes happened to her for the past years. I cannot believe that they are together now. But now, her dreams came true. I regret that I was not there when it happened. It must be the happiest moment of her life. Sana ay nasaksihan ko iyon.

"Yes, tita. It's because I wanted to help my father with his business. Although, it was really hard at first because I was not a business minded person," humagikgik si Celine. "But I came to learn it naman po. And through time, I learned to love it also."

Dad and Tito Ariel excused themselves to talk about the business that dad left here.

I chuckled at her reaction. "You didn't expect it?" I asked her when I saw the amusement in her eyes.

The tension was suddenly gone and it was just like how we used to be like the old times.

"English major? I didn't know that you liked anything that involves english..." aniya. "You are not fond of reading books, right?"

"Well, I didn't expect it to happen, as well. And besides, being an english major doesn't only mean that you have to read books." I informed her while raising my brows.

"How did you come up with the decision?"

A small smile formed on my lips as I remember my friends in Los Angels.

"Students were having their vacation when I came to L.A. Hindi agad ako nakapag-aral. I was bored at home and I wanted something to do. I also wanted to earn my own money para hindi ko na maabala pa si mommy noon."
