"Rong Xin, can you stop doing this?" Gu Yi was complaining again.

I was walking around looking for chores to do. However as I grabbed the handle of a broom, a servant would come take it from my hand. As I grabbed a basket of laundry, a guard would force it from me. As I lifted up a ladle to cook, a low level sect follower would push me aside.

Walking aimlessly around Bleak Night, I replied to Gu Yi, "Doing what?"

"Moving around and about. Do you know how tiring it is to follow you?"

"Just leave me be then."

"I can't do that because Sect Leader has ordered me to watch you."

"I'm safest within the walls of Bleak Night. Why do you have to watch my every step? Do Master not trust me?"

"He probably has his reasons."

"Then why doesn't he watch me? I barely see him now that we're back."

"Sect Leader is dealing with matters within Jianghu. You won't understand."

"Tch." I made a face at Gu Yi. He was always looking down on me because I didn't know the affairs of Jianghu. Running away from him, I could hear his hurried steps following.

Later in the evening, everyone in the sect was whispering that, "Sect Leader is back. Sect Leader is back."

And so I went to go see Master.

Venturing into Master's chambers, I found him admiring a sword inside its sheath. Quietly, I stood and waited for him to notice my presence.

Setting down the weapon, Master turned to face me and said, "You're here."

"Yes."

"What is it?" Master stared at me with an incredulous face.

"Master, since we've been back, you haven't taught me anything."

"We'll pick back up the lessons when you can do a simple teleportation spell. Have you even been practicing?"

"Well, I-- Only when I have time..."

Master looked disappointed that I had not been dedicating myself. He let out a sigh.

"I purposely no longer made you my maid so that you could practice cultivation, and yet you do not. Do you laze around all day?"

"Master, you can ask Gu Yi what I've been up to. Even though I'm no longer a maid, the only things I can help with are menial chores."

"Just devote yourself to your cultivating, all right? That's what I want you to focus on."

"Okay..."

Master walked away to the table behind me and sat down. With a gentler voice, he looked at me and asked, "Do you want to eat something? I'll have the cooks prepare something for you."

I couldn't help it but smiled brightly and sat down in the chair next to him.

"Okay! I liked the dishes you cooked for me when we were at Shui Jing Mountain. Can I eat something like that again?"

Master's eyes sparkled with delight. "All right. I'll prepare those for you. Wait here."

"I'll go with you!"

"Sure."

Walking side by side, admiring the stars in the sky, Master and I made our way to the kitchen. The servants in the kitchen were surprised by Master's visit and bowed one after another.

"Sect Leader!"

"Sect Leader, what can we do to serve you?"

Master stood tall and menacing. "You may all go. I'll take charge of the kitchen tonight."
