Herd Chapter 22

" Is there any way to get around it? " Daryl asks as he talks with some of the men. 

I silently watch them from a distance. " Come on Jesse! " Carl says excitedly pulling on my arm. 

" What? " I ask looking at him very confusedly. 

Carl smiles. " Let's go look through cars. My mom said it was okay. " 

" Oh. " I nod and Daryl looks back at me. 

" Be careful. " Daryl says before returning to his conversation. 

" Let's go! " Carl grabs Sophia's arm and pulls her along as well. Lori and Carol trail a little farther behind us. 

I veer off away from the others, a little closer to the RV and nervously hold the small pocket knife Carl gave me in my hands. It's just in case. I slowly open a car door and gag at the sent of death.

I grab onto a black bag. I dig around inside and slip a small hunting knife into my pocket. I can give it to Daryl later. He'll probably want it. I don't think he knows I have the pocket knife Carl gave me. 

I hum to myself as I pull out a bunch of trash. I grab the bag and zip it up tightly.

" Down! " I hear Rick whisper/yell. What's going on? He's probably yelling at Carl for climbing on top of the RV. Again.

I turn to the RV and start walking back. No one's out here. What happened? Where did everyone go? I shrug it off. They're probably in the RV. A groan startles me. I turn around. A herd of walkers is walking towards us!

" Jesse! " Daryl yells softly, so he doesn't get the walkers more anxious. Daryl points to the RV and hurry inside.

Andrea looks up. " Hey Jesse. " She smiles. 

" Get back! " I drag her to the RV bathroom where walkers can't see us. 

" What on earth is going on? " She asks confused. I put a finger to my lips. 

" Walkers. " I whisper and point outside. " A herd. " I hear someone on top of the RV. Dale's arm comes into view. Fhw. I thought he was a walker for a second there. Walkers can't climb, can they? 

A growl from somewhere inside the RV scares me and Andrea. The door. Walker. Open. Shoot!!!!! I left the door open!
