Regret part 2

Jughead's POV
After the door slammed shut after Betty, I slid to the floor while tears streamed down my face. I put my head in my hands as quiet sobs escaped my throat. I was an awful boyfriend for forgetting something as important as this. I loved Betty so much, and the very first time that I saw her I knew she was it for me. I wanted her to have everything she ever could, so that's why i'm going to fix this.

Betty's POV
i walked home in the still, darkness of night as tears flowed down my face. I had done it. Ended things with him because he couldn't remember one little date. I wanted to go back and hold him and tell him that it was okay and that i forgave him, but i couldn't. I couldn't because i was hurt that after everything we've been through in our 6 months together, he couldn't even remember one simple day. When i got home I slumped up the stairs and didn't even bother putting my pajamas on. I just got in bed and pulled the covers over my head, drifting away from reality.  I woke the next morning to my phone ringing, i rolled over to see Veronica's name on my screen. My face contorted into confusion but answered anyways.
"Hello?" My groggy voice said.
"Betty! thank the lord, where the hell are you? You've missed 3 periods already!" She said. My eyes opened wide and i looked at the time 10:42. Crap! 
"Shit! I over slept! i'll be there soon, bye!" i quickly hung up the phone and went to my closet. I pulled on some leggings and one of Jug's sweatshirts and just pulled the hood over my head. This outfit wasn't typical Betty Cooper but after everything that's happened, i really don't care. I walked out of the house and to school.
Jughead's POV
Where is Betty? Is she okay? What if something happened to her? What if she's hurt? My thoughts were answered when she walked through the doors, wearing leggings, my sweatshirt, and had her gorgeous blonde locks hanging down her shoulders with the hood pulled over her head. She had deep bags under her eyes, and everyone stopped to stare at her. Whispers could be heard throughout the halls, and everyone's eyes went back and forth between Betty and me. I walked up to Betty and gently dragged her towards the blue and gold. She really must've been tired because she didn't even try to fight me. I shut the door behind us and turned to face Betty. her eyes were focused on the door behind me, and neither of us said anything. I had had enough of the silence and so i spoke up.
"Betty, i'm so sorry. I know that sorry isn't good enough but I don't know what to say. I'm an awful boyfriend and person and I feel so bad for ignoring you and treating you the way that i did." my voice cracks as i go on, "i just love you so much, and want what's best for you. I really don't want us to end, but if that's the only way you'll be happy again then i will let you go."
She looked up at me with nothing but love in her eyes, which shocked me to say the least.
"Jug, I don't want us to end either, and i want to give us another try. If i do that though you have to promise me you'll spend less time with the serpents, because i care for you and want to see you too" I grinned so wide my cheeks hurt. I picked her up and twirled her around as she laughed. Her giggles were like music to my ears. I set her down and stared into her eyes for a few seconds before connecting our lips in a love filled kiss. It was a promise between us that we would both be better and try harder for the other. She was the first one to break and our foreheads leaned against each other.
"Betty, I swear i will be better for you. You are it for me Betty Cooper, and i love you so so much" she smiled and said,
"Jughead Jones i love you so much more"
"Impossible" i whispered.
