"Soooo, what should we do?" Peggy asked. Thomas and James both shrugged while Alex's face lit up.

"I know, I know! Truth or dare!" he suggested, almost bursting with excitement.

Thomas groaned, James just smiled at his boyfriend's childish enthusiasm and Peggy squealed, "Yes! Let's do that!" James shrugged and sent Thomas a look.

"Alright, alright," he sighed, giving in and agreeing to play. "Alexander, truth or-"

"Dare, I ain't no coward," Alex butted in. Thomas thought about it for a moment.

"I dare you to phone Mr Hansen (the headmaster of their school) and confess your undying love for him," Thomas smirked. Alex cocked an eyebrow and reached for his phone.

He dialled a number quickly and, once the person on the other end picked up, said, "Hey Mr Hansen. I know you told me not to call you unless it was a complete emergency but I have to get something off my chest."

There was a brief pause and then the small group's headmaster said, "If it's not your shirt then I don't want to know." A horrified gasp went around the group as Mr Hansen continued, "No, seriously, were you dared to confess your undying love to me again, Mr Hamilton?"

Alex mirrored Thomas's earlier smirk at the other's expressions as he replied, "Yeah, I was. Sorry for bothering you. How's your wife?"

"She's good, thank you Alexander. How are your sisters and your adoptive father?" the voice answered.

"They're fine sir. Oh, and you don't need to worry about me and Thomas Jefferson fighting anymore," Alex added. A relieved sigh made its way to the group's ears.

"Did you finally put your odds aside and realise that you two would actually make a pretty decent couple?" Mr Hansen asked hopefully. Alex sighed.

"Evan, how many times? I've told you before that I'm dating his friend, James."

"Yes, yes, I know. But I have good money on you two getting together before the end of the year, Alex," Evan said impatiently. "Oh well, I'd best be getting back to my family. Goodbye James, Thomas, Margarita and Alexander. I'll see you tomorrow at school."

With a click, the phone went silent and reverted back to Alex's home screen. "What in the name of hell," James questioned, "Just happened?" Alex laughed lightly.

"I did try to warn you that I wasn't a coward. I've lost count of how many times I've been dared to 'phone Mr Hansen and tell him I love him' or 'phone Miss Beck and ask her for the homework answers'. It's safe to say that I've become pretty good friends with most of our teachers. They mostly just play along with it," Alex explained.

"Well," Thomas said after an extended silence. "I think it's safe to say that that was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. The four laughed awkwardly.

"Is it my turn to ask someone?" Alex asked. Peggy nodded.

"Anyone except Thomas because that's just how it works," she ordered.

"Ok mom," Alex joked, throwing his hands into the air defensively. "Jamie, truth or dare?"

"Truth, I don't trust you when it comes to dares," James answered, only half joking.

"Alrighty, then. If you had to date one person who wasn't me who would it be?" James turned scarlet and muttered something under his breath then shot his head up.

"Lexi, can I just tell you?" he asked nervously. Alex nodded and led him away from Thomas and Peggy who watched awkwardly as the couple spoke together quietly.
