Hyungjoon Ahn was born on the 16th of September, 1997. He was 16 when he died.
Hyungjoon was an only child. His family was expecting a girl, but to their surprise, they got a healthy baby boy who looked excatly like his father. His family was living in Yajin, China, until they decided to move back to South Korea when Hyungjoon was a 4th grader. Their family became more lively and real after they moved to Ansan, and it showed in Hyungjoon. He became more caring for his parents and became more lively. His mother recalls that one night when his father was on a business trip and there was a thunderstorm outside, Hyungjoon was beside her on the couch, comforting her. in general Hyungjoon was very sincere and caring, and a great cook. His parents loved the 'Yamuji sushi' he made them. At school Hyungjoon loved playing basketball with Kyeongbin Im and Minseok Kim, but he still focused on his studies with his study partner Minseok Choi. He had a list of goals for the second year. Only ones he didn't complete were: 1. Get excellent grades 2. Clean hallways with Slava He was a member of the school's brodcasting club. Hyungjoon had learned Chinese from his time in China, and he of course studied it in Danwon. His ultimate dream was to enter the Chinese department in Hanyang University and master the language.
Hyungjoon texted his father after boarding the ferry. It was him on the deck with his friends, awaiting the firework show. He had a bright smile on his face which his parents won't forget. His mother has described that their house is still, because Hyungjoon isn't there anymore. Time doesn't pass anymore, and it's worse when they go into what used to be his room. All the basketball shoes, chinese textbooks and his new bicycle are still, waiting for him to return.
His body was recovered and returned to his parents. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
