Hoyeon Kim was born on the 25th of November, 1997. He was 16 when he died.
Even though Hoyeon was a little greedy and ambitious, he was polite and serious. He had an outstanding talent in sports, especially in basketball. He was also good at playing the guitar and the piano. He was offered an audition for a TV show, but he declined, so he could focus more on studying. ''Let's study like my brother!'' was Hoyeon's motto. Hoyeon adored his older brother. He had been to the same field trip the year prior, and Hoyeon was on good spirits, and excited.
According to survivors. Hoyeon had noticed the tilting and had made his way to the deck, but went back after hearing ''Stay in your cabins. Don't move''
His body was recovered and returned to his parents. He was cremated.
