Joonhyuk was born on the 17th of February 1998. He was 16 when he died.

Joonhyuk was the eldest of three siblings. He cared for his mother a lot , and listened to her. She described him as 'a guy with three hearts' because he was so caring. He took care of his younger siblings as well, and loved cooking for them. Joonhyuk did a lot of things in his free time, martial arts, swimming, rope skipping, art and especially soccer. Joonhyuk originally dreamed of becoming a cook and opening his own restaurant, but he changed his mind and wanted to study mandarin and get a well paid job in China.

Before boarding, Joonhyuk had given a long hug to his mother. ''Don't worry, I'll be back'' he said. Joonhyuk was seen excited over the firework show at the deck. The happiest he had been in a while.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
