Hyeonjin Im was born on the May 9th 1997. He was 16 when he died

Hyeonjin was the eldest child of his family. He liked soccer, and spent most of his time studying. Hyeonjin was described as charming and funny.Also as a good guide and a very social person. He dreamed of becoming an interior designer, and getting his parents new cooking equitment.

Hyeonjin was texting his father during the sinking, one of his last messages being a simple ''I got it'' after his father asked if he had a life jacket.

When Hyeonjin's belongings were retireved, to his parents surprise, he had not spent any money at Sewol. His phone was also among the retrieved items. He had taken a lot of pictures there, but none during the sinking.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park
