Ocheon Kwon was born on the 5th of March, 1997. He was 17 when he died.
Ocheon was the youngest of three siblings. His father died from cancer when Ocheon was young, so he grew up with just his mother. He learned things fast, walking at eight months, biking at three years, and he was fluent in English from a young age. His friends knew exchange students, and they would often visit him just because Ocheon is the only person they can converse with. Ocheon loved excercising and sports like taekwondo and boxing. Ocheon was a good leader, and was kind to others. His ultimate dream was to study at Yonsei University to become a P.E teacher, and travel to The United States and Europe when he turns 20.
According to one survivor, Ocheon was the one who got him out of the ferry. Ocheon had broken his leg, but still assisted the student out, and went back to his friends. He stayed with them until the very end.
His body was recovered and returned to his family. He was cremated.
