Hyunjeong Kim (Class 1)

Hyunjeong Kim was born on the 30th of January, 1998. She was 16 when she died.

Hyunjeong lived with her mother and her older sister, who battled with an illness. 
Hyunjeong loved them both, and usually she would give her mother her headphones when she heard good music coming on, and in general she loved having long chats with her. But due to spending so much time with each other, they also argued a lot, and Hyunjeong usually retreated to Kakaotalk, and asked her friends for advice before making up with her mother.
Hyunjeong absolutely adored her homeroom teacher, Nina Yu, and wished to accompany her to a Japan trip someday.
Hyunjeong's ultimate dream was to become a Japanese teacher, and teach like Nina did.

According to survivors, Hyunjeong was following Nina around during the sinking, like many other girls from her class did. They had made it from the 5th floor to near the deck, but the water rose too fast. Hyunjeong disapeared into the water along with her classmates.

Her body was recovered  a day after the sinking and returned to her family. She now rests at Hwaseong Sky Memorial Park.
