Juhee Kim was born on the 29th of March, 1997. She was 17 when she died.
Juhee was the only daughter of her family. Her mother was really close with her, and Juhee was a mama's girl, prefering her over her friends. Juhee was described as bright and happy, and she often smiled. Her smile had a lot of hidden pain behind it, as her father, whom she had loved very much, had died in a car accident when she was in the 4th grade. Juhee remained positive, and focused on her studies, winning science contest with a solar car, and getting good grades in all subjects. She had talent in painting and writing. Juhee's dream was to make so much money that she can support her mother.
A facebook post was made a day after the sinking. It was a cry for help.
It claimed that 6 girls are alive in the ferry. One of these girls was Juhee. (Others were Haeju Lee, Sojin Lee, Danbi Lee, Saeyoung Han, Hansol Lee and maybe Goeun Han. Songhee Kim might've been alive too, but was not mentioned in the post.) The goverment called it a hoax, but Juhee's mother had it confirmed, that it was posted at the sinking site. She was wearing a different outfit during the sinking, and when she was transported to a hospital, which further proves that they might've been alive in the ferry for multiple days. Nobody went to help those girls, who either froze or starved in that airpocket. Her mother gave an interview about it:
Her body was recovered and returned to her family. She was cremated.
