Jiyoon Kim was born on the 26th of November, 1997. She was 16 when she died.

Jiyoon was the middle child of her family. She always listened to her parents, helped them with housework, and barely asked for trending clothing, she'd just respond ''I don't need it''. This was because her younger brothers begged for the new clothes instead. Her mother often told her ''Dream all you want and do your best, but sometimes you have to  give up accept it and move on'', which eventually became Jiyoon's motto. Her best friend was Seongbin Park from class 1. Her mother's favorite quote from her was ''Have big dreams and do your best. If things don't go your way, you should accept it and move on.'' She didn't have good grades, but she still tried working hard to get into Yonsei University, and become a English teacher.

When the divers went inside the ferry, they found her from the 5th floor lobby. She wasn't alone, she was with her best friend Seongbin Park. Unfortunately, they both had drowned.

Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
