Jongyoung Hong was born on the 5th of May, 1997. He was 16 when he died.

Jongyoung Hong was the eldest child, only having one younger twin brother. They had gone to the same schools, until their parents thought they could be indenpendent without each other. He had a strong sense of responsibility from a young age, and was very resilient when it came to his beliefs. As a result, he didn't get along with all of his classmates, but he owned a good heart, he really cared for those around him. Jongyoung also had deep faith in god, and started attending church on the 4th grade, and joined the church choir. Jongyoung's best friend and girlfriend was Dayoon Heo from class 2. They had known each other since middle school, and had opposing personalities. They walked to school together and studied together after school, they were inseperatable. Jongyoung got Dayoon's mother to drive him to the port with Dayoon. Jongyoung's dream was to become a lawyer, and he showed this by having a 'Jongyoung's housing rights act' in his bedroom.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He had both his eyes and mouth closed. His parents knew that he was praying to lord before the absolute end. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park, next to Dayoon Heo, who returned 3 years after the sinking.
