The ping-pong tournament was that day and Alfie was documenting everything. No one from their school had won a ping-pong game in what felt like forever, so of course Jerome and Amber were nervous, well Jerome more so than Amber. Scarlett watched on in amusement as Alfie began trying to coach Amber again, by criticising her breakfast choice, to which she pushed some food onto his camera. She frowned as he shrugged and ate it before making a joke that Scarlett cringed at. Alfie then pushed Nina to laugh, by repeating the joke a couple of times.

"You're just a big kid," Nina insulted, pushing him away.

Alfie made his way to his seat, sucking his thumb. Scarlett frowned. Alfie hadn't done that since he was like ten, at least that's what Jerome told her when they were trading secrets.

After breakfast, Scarlett grabbed her stuff and made her way to class, which dragged on as she waited for the final lesson before the ping-pong match. She had no interest in the sport, she just wanted to support her friends.

She was making her way to the student lounge, the outside way to try and avoid Eddie, who has been trying to get her attention all day, but apparently he already guessed she would do that and quickly called out to her.

"Hey, Granger. Hey."

He ran over to her as she tried to ignore him. He stood in front of her, making her stop where she was. She scoffed lightly.

"Do I know you? Eddie Miller, was it? Or could it be, I don't know, Edison Sweet?"

He quickly shushed her.

"Will you keep it a secret?"

"Why should I?" She demanded.

"Because we're friends," he reasoned.

"I'll keep your secret," she told.

"Great."

"But I don't think we can ever be friends, Eddie," she added.

"Because you found out who my dad is," he stated.

"The fact that you think that low of me kind of proves my point here. It's because I found out who you are. I can't believe you didn't tell me. I don't rat people out, remember?" She answered, ignoring his attempt to try and argue his way out of it. She moved around him and made her way to the ping pong match, greeting Poppy and wishing Jerome luck. She moved to Amber to wish her luck.

"So why'd you give it all up?" Patricia asked Amber.

She only hummed in response.

"Ping-pong. Why'd you give it up?" she elaborated.

"Boys," Nina, Patricia and Scarlett chorused, noticing her staring at the boy on the other team.

"I can't help it. They make me lose focus," she admitted.
