Scarlett was eating when Nina ran back into the house, crying. She placed her fork down when Fabian called out to her and quickly made her way over to the girl to comfort her with Amber and Fabian close behind her.

"What's wrong? What did Sweetie want to talk to you about?" Fabian asked as he leant over to read the laptop Nina was holding.

"'A certain American student may seem as wholesome as her granny's apple pie, but when she spends so much time cutting class, you have to ask, is she worthy of the scholarship? If she spent as much time caring for her seriously ill gran in hospital as she did running around campus, why doesn't she fly the old lady home?'" He read.

Alfie and Patricia had joined them as Fabian read the article.

"Nina, this is horrible," Fabian expressed.

"Way harsh," Amber added.

"Mr Sweet had some questions about the whole 'cutting class' part," Nina informed.

"Who would write that about you?" Scarlett questioned.

"I do have a hunch, maybe."

"You mean Joy," Amber voiced.

"This isn't Joy," Patricia argued.

"Yeah, no. No way. Joy would never stoop this low," Fabian defended.

"Oh, come on. Break it down, people. Who's jealous of Nina? Joy. Who'd like to get Nina out of the way? Joy."

"Uh, Senkhara," Patricia told.

"Vera," Alfie listed.

"Rufus," Fabian informed.

"And Victor," Amber finished.

"Loads of people hate you," Alfie joked.

"And Senkhara may be one big bad spirit lady, but I don't think she can work a laptop," Amber explained.

"Plus every article goes through Joy, she's the only one who can publish them," Scarlett revealed. "So even if she didn't write it, she approved it."

"Look, I don't care who it was, okay? Because it's true, I didn't even think of flying Gran home, because I've been so busy following this quest and I'm a terrible granddaughter," Nina cried.

"Okay first off isn't American healthcare like super expensive? And aren't you like the only living family she has? And wouldn't it be better for her to be here so you can check on her without having to make international calls, not to mention the time difference? And don't you think visiting her at the moment when she's that far away is kind of hard when you're a full time student searching for the Mask of Anubis who can't leave unless it's a weekend and you have permission and someone to go with you?" Scarlett listed, attempting to make the girl feel better. "So tell me again how you're a terrible granddaughter when you've done what most people would?"
