Scarlett sat in the library before school begun, waiting to talk to Jasper about Trudy being missing. As she scrolled through her phone (attempting to make herself feel slightly less stressed, not that that anything helped) Jerome walked in, trailing behind Alfie. She pocketed her phone.
"I had a terrible dream last night where Vera was a double agent, Rufus was a kidnapper, and Fabian's godfather was a mole," Alfie exclaimed.
Amber looked towards where Patricia and Scarlett were sitting, a look of confusion on her face as she mouthed 'what?'.
"A different kind of mole, Ambs," Patricia explained.
"I wish I could say it was all a dream," Nina sighed.
Jasper made his way down the stairs, noticing the students standing around, "Oh, grim faces. Well, what can I do for you?"
"Well, first you can grovel. Then you can help us get Trudy and our dollhouse back," Amber informed.
"You shouldn't have told them, Jerome," Jasper called to the boy who couldn't meet his eyes.
"He wouldn't have had to if you'd been honest with me," Fabian whispered, although everyone heard him.
Scarlett almost rolled her eyes, almost. He was acting as though him knowing wouldn't have put him in more danger than he was already in.
He sent a weak smile to Nina who was trying to comfort him.
"I didn't want to put you in danger. Trudy got too involved, and look what's happened to her. I was trying to keep you safe," Jasper told.
"Look, Jasper, we know Rufus. We go way back. He's pure evil," Nina explained.
"Which is why we need your help," Fabian added. He paused as Jasper glanced at the teenagers. "Well, you're going to help us, aren't you, Jasper?"
"Everyone has an achilles heel, and the collector's is antiquities. The one thing he wants more than anything else is the Mask of Anubis," Jasper revealed.
Scarlett scoffed, "Yeah, well, you can tell him to get in line."
"No, but if Jasper tells him he has the Mask of Anubis, then he'll want to go and meet him and then while he's gone, we can rescue Trudy," Fabian told.
Patricia folded her arms, "Great plan. Tiny flaw."
"What?"
"We don't have the mask."
Nina made her way to one of the displays, "But Rufus doesn't know that."
"We can use the replica. Nina, you- you're brilliant," Fabian complimented.
