I sighed, holding the book in between my legs. A black jacket hung over my body, giving me warmth inside of the cold room I sat in. I had my legs crossed and I picked at the pages of my book. Minutes passed like hours as I waited to see if I would be called back to my station. A small sigh escaped my lips as I got up to change into comfier clothes. The door opened quickly making me jump. Kylo stood in the doorway, he had taken his helmet off already and his dark hair stuck to the side of his face. I knew that he must've destroyed something, his hands shook slightly as they were balled into fists.
"Hey, what happened..?"
I spoke softly, slowly walking up to him. I grabbed his hands and pulled him into the room. Kylo just stared at the floor.
"Kylo I can't help if you don't tell me."
I looked up at him, noticing how much the energy shifted. His eyes darted down to me. I searched his eyes to try and figure something out. Kylo brought his hand up, gripping my jaw slightly and shoving his lips against mine. My eyes widened but I eagerly kissed back. Kylo dropped his helmet on the floor and his other hand grabbed onto my waist. I sighed softly and leaned closer to his body. He pushed me further back, still keeping his lips on mine. Kylo pulled away slightly and pushed me down on the bed, crawling on top of me. My actions seemed like a routine as I started to pull at his undershirt to take it off. I denied the awkward feeling that started to grow, knowing how much I've wanted this to happen. My brain worked by itself, not any thought of telling me to stop.

"Have you found anything on the girl?"
I asked softly, walking next to Hux on the command deck.
"No, why?"
He raised an eyebrow as he turned to me. I shook my head and rubbed my eyes, still feeling the sleep in them.
"I'm sure Ren will ask about her so I thought I'd get a jump on it."
I answered. Hux nodded and crossed his arms behind his back. We made some small talk about different things that were going on. It was nice and quiet, not a lot was going on. I heard the door slide open, making me glance over. Kylo stood in the doorway as he walked closer to us.
"Ren. What do you need?"
I asked and just like I could read his mind.
"Did you find anything on the girl?"
Kylo asked and stopped in front of me and Hux. My heart dropped a little, knowing that I wasn't much except just a fill-in for him. I sighed softly and balled my hands into fists. Hux cleared his throat, probably noticing my demeanor.
"No, we haven't found anything groundbreaking yet."
Hux answered his question and glanced towards me. I blinked and looked back towards the different officers. If I avoided eye contact, it would be easy for me to not start breaking down about the whole situation between me and the sith. Kylo and Hux kept talking about the girl and I really tried to pay no mind to it. My mind was still muddled with thoughts about the situation. I truly did care for Kylo, I always have. We had been grown to have a friendship since the beginning of his time in the First Order. That friendship brought a lot more feelings than I ever thought I could have. But ever since he fought the scavenger girl, he's been obsessed with her. He's told me about how sometimes he thinks he sees her but she's not there. There was something that he felt for her that I could tell by the way he talked about her sometimes. I was open to listening to his thoughts because I knew that he needed someone. That small talking started leading to a lot more. More than I ever expected anything to happen. I thought it would've just been a one-night kinda thing but it turned into a stress reliever for him. You would think I would've just told him no and it would be the end of it. He's told me multiple times if I wanted him to stop just to say the word and he would..Something inside me didn't want to stop. I loved him even though I knew that it wouldn't be returned back to me. It was the closest I could be with him.
"General (L/n)?"
Kylo's moderated voice broke my thoughts. I quickly turned my head over to him.
"Yes?"
I replied and tried to think of something else.
"We need to talk, alone."
Kylo commanded and walked out of the command deck. I blinked and Hux glanced towards me. I brought my full attention to him and raised an eyebrow. He shrugged his shoulders. I sighed, slowly making my way out of the room to follow Kylo. I quickened my pace to catch up to Kylo as we walked towards the training room he used. My feet quickly matched his own steps as we walked down the long hallways. The walk was quiet and long. It was just the sound of our footsteps and every now and again we would see a patrol of troopers. When we got to the doors to the training room Kylo walked in and stood in the middle of the room.
"Kylo now's not the time and this is not the place for anything-"
"Stop."
Kylo cut me off and it startled me a little. I had never gotten used to the robotic voice that his mask gave him.
"If we're going to talk, can you at least take the mask off?"
I asked softly and he nodded his head. His hands reached up to his mask, pulling it off his head. My heart skipped a beat slightly as he took the mask. I mentally cursed myself for thinking that. He held it in his arm and looked down at me.
"(Y/n), I feel like it'd be best for both of us to not let our feelings get in the way of our work,"
Kylo stated. My stomach dropped with those words, and I felt like I was going to throw up.
"I appreciate the times you've helped me with everything but I don't think we should see each other like that anymore."
He continued and my gaze fell to the floor. Part of me knew that this was coming soon, especially with how much he was thinking about the scavenger. He spent every day asking if we had any leads on trying to find her. Every day it was a no. He told me that he would talk to her sometimes, but he didn't know where she was.
"Oh...I understand.."
I spoke softly. Kylo put his hand on my shoulder and I looked up at him.
"I really hope we still could be friends, (Y/n), but I really think we should take a step away from each other for a while."
Kylo explained and I nodded. He smiled slightly before putting his helmet back on. Kylo walked out of the room, leaving me alone. Right as I heard the door close, everything broke inside of me. Tears spilled out of my eyes and a dull pain ached in my chest. I clasped my hand over my mouth, keeping myself from making any noise. I knew this was nothing more than just an escape for him. Why did I even think that it would be anything other than that?
