My eyes instantly dropped to the floor where the photo frame lay shattered in a thousand pieces, the glass sticking to the rug in tiny crystals.

"No" I sunk to my knees, feeling the shards pierce my legs, but the only thing I was focused on was getting the frame back together somehow. It was hers.

The never-ending salty tears trailed down my cheeks, and I pathetically attempted to grab all the pieces. They shredded my palms and wrists, further causing blood to trek down my arms. All the while, the same thought was running through my head- I couldn't lose something else.

"Blaze stop" I could feel a pair of hands shake my shoulders but I was adamant on fixing all the pieces like the way they were, I couldn't ignore it like I had done before.

"Look at me" the voice was demanding, but it wasn't as powerful as the raw hurt coursing my body. My fingers stung as they perused the rug, and suddenly they were entwined with his. A man's touch- it had to be Aiden.

I jerked away from his hold, wincing as a stinging sensation shot up both my arms.

The blood, it was back again. I could feel my breathing get heavier and rushed, synchronised with my rapid heartbeat.

The pain began as a small spark, but now it ignited to a roaring wildfire, surging through my veins. The familiar feeling of both emptiness yet agony ripped through me.

Trembling limbs, shortness of breath, burning heartbeats.

The same arms snaked around my shoulders again, but I moved away.

"Don't please. I'm sorry" I whispered hoarsely, knowing my protests would be silenced. I couldn't see anything beyond my blurred vision, just a fuzzy outline, a male.

"No, don't touch me" I yelled, flinching when I felt his fingertips brush my arms.

"Okay I'm sorry, I won't. I'm right here" his voice sounded faint, drowned by the cacophony of my own rushing blood and chattering teeth.

"No you never are" my voice shook, waiting for the impact of his hand. I shouldn't have said that, he would hit me.

"Listen to my voice" Aiden's voice sounded desperate, something that never occurred before. He was trying to trap me.
