Lennox POV

Shit.
That's Malakai.

Suddenly I felt hot, as if fire was burning to my ears. I tucked my bottom lip between my teeth, taking a deep breath trying to decide what to do next.

I saw Christian was nearby and immediately rose from my seat walking over to him. "Here, take your niece. And do me a favor please? Make sure Gia gets home safely. That's all though Chris, just make sure she gets home."

"Yeah sure, but where are you going?" I didn't bother to answer before spinning on my heels walking away.

I can send him a text message later explaining or apologizing, whatever. Right now, I need to get out of here. I went into the house where the children were playing to collect Jayce-Lynn so we can go. I paused mid-stride; I can't even drive. I've been drinking tonight, I cannot get into a car with Jayce and drive. I stopped again pulling my phone out of my pocket. I don't exactly want to put Jayce in an Uber, she wouldn't have a car seat or anything. I called Brandt.

He picked up on the first ring, per usual. "Hello? C-Can you please come get me?"

"Of course baby. Are you okay? You sound weird."

"I'm fine, I'll text you the address okay? Just come quickly please." I sighed running a hand through my hair. I feel like I can barely even think straight. Tunnel Vision, Lennox. Get out. That's our only goal at the moment.

The thing that really gets me regarding this entire situation is that I'm totally blindsided right now. There are numerous molecular equations that I'd very well be capable of solving in my sleep, yet somehow I did not see this coming. Like a complete imbecile.

"Lennox—" My head whipped around so fast I nearly gave myself whiplash, no he did not have the nerve to follow me in here.

I immediately held my hand up, stopping him. "I don't have anything to say to you. But even if I did, this is the last place I'd speak to you. Okay? I'm going to go now."

His entire family is here, my entire family is here... They're not really my family, and that's the most painful thing about this entire ordeal. If this indiscretion, this lapse judgement were to get out... If people were to become aware, I would be the one cast out. I would be the one ostracized. I'd be the one bearing the weight and the consequences. I would be the whore and home wrecker and he would be forgiven, because I'm not really family.

I made my way downstairs towards the basement where the children were located. I couldn't help but smile softly watching Jay run around with the twins.

"Hey Bug, get your stuff and say bye to your cousins. It's time to go." I bent down to her level just as Mia and Michelle ran over to me.

"Awww! TiTi Lennox, does she have to leave so soon?" They're so cute.
