(Below is a note I put on Tumblr, I just thought I'd share it here too.)

A/N- I know I'm going through the requests I have pretty slowly and I apologize. Before Tumblr, I didn't really have a posting schedule and it didn't matter much because I was only getting requests from Wattpad and only working on one book. But now I have Tumblr requests, Wattpad requests, the Shoni x Reader book (series), and my own ideas (plus school). No one's said anything rude to me about taking so long, which I thank you for, I just feel bad that it's taking so long to get to people's requests. Anyways, thanks for reading my work and having patience with me. :)

Nora watched in fear as you ran into the water, the other girls yelling at Rachel trying to get her attention. You hadn't known Nora before the island. You hadn't known anyone on the plane before it crashed. Maybe that's what drew Nora in, made her want to know you, maybe that's why she regretted her decision about working with Gretchen. Nora regretted a lot of things since they arrived on the island but meeting you almost made her regret regretting things.

"Guys!" Nora yelled to the other girls after they all watched Dot give a girl, Jeanette, CPR. The other girls looked up and followed Nora's finger as she pointed at something down the beach. Dot was up almost immediately running down the beach and towards another body that washed up. The other girls, minus Leah and Jeanette, ran up as well and watched as Dot gave someone CPR for the second time that day, no one wanting to step in. The girl finally coughed the water out of her lungs after a few minutes of tense silence. She managed to look at the girls surrounding her before promptly passing out.

The first time you risked your life was when Leah, Rachel, and Shelby were on their way to the top a mountain/hill to see if there was anything on the island. You hadn't said much since you had awoken the second time and would follow people around when they left the camp. No one really complained about you because you would help them with whatever they were doing. Everything had been going fine on the way up. The tension between Rachel and Leah was obvious and you just hoped that neither of them started anything. Of course, you weren't lucky and near the top they got into an argument. You stayed near the back of the group as Leah and Rachel argued with Shelby in the middle trying to stop it. Rachel had managed to push Shelby hard enough that she fell into Leah who, to catch Shelby, dropped the mirror causing it to roll over the edge of the cliff. You dived as fast as you could after the mirror, the front of your body hanging over the edge as you tried to reach the ledge that the mirror fell on.

The girls yelled your name out in fear as they watched you start to slip because the rock one of your hands was resting on fell crushing the mirror and making you lose your grip. You hadn't really cared about falling if you got the mirror but once it fell, you panicked, especially when the girls couldn't seem to pull you back up. When you thought you were one for, another pair of hands grabbed you and pulled you into them. With that crisis avoided, Rachel and Leah went back to yelling at each other about the mirror. While you looked up to see Nora looking over you to make sure you were okay, her heart beating a mile a minute. You blushed at the attention.

After that moment, Nora watched out for you all the time. She knew you could take care of yourself but you always helped too much and put yourself in danger. Nora only really watched to make sure you didn't get yourself in trouble, she never thought about you burning out. She hadn't really noticed, no one had, that you would sometimes take other people's jobs or help them after you did your own. They didn't notice how you never took an off day, were the first one up and the last one asleep. They never really noticed that when you were on fire watched at night that you never woke the next person for their shift.

None of it came clear until one day, a day that was hotter than the rest that you collapsed. It had seemed like a normal, hotter but normal, day to all the girls. They all had their jobs and it was your off day. You noticed that you were running low on fire wood and offered to go get some for the person tending the fire. Fatin let you, not really wanting to do anything since fire tending was one of the easiest jobs. Fatin hadn't even realized you didn't return until someone, Nora, had asked where you were. Fatin had barely noticed that it had started getting dark. "She went to get more fire wood... but that was hours ago." Fatin stated as she looked into the woods, where you went. Nora didn't even hesitate and ran into the woods, yelling your name.

She found you slumped against a tree, the fire wood you collected laying on top of you. Nora panicked at your unmoving form. She shook you awake in a panic and let out a breath of relief when you opened your eyes. You almost immediately apologized at the fact that you fell asleep. That same night, Nora forced you to spill about why you wanted to do everything for everyone, why you were so willing to crash and burn for people you hadn't known before. You came clean about everything to her, how you were neglected early in life and only appreciated when you did something for others, how sought for approval from others that you never got from your family.

---

After confessing everything to Nora, the two of you were closer than before. It was obvious to the others that the two of you shared feelings for each other but never seemed to act on them. But watching as you swam towards Rachel as she got pulled under, Nora realized she had stopped regretting coming to the island or working with Gretchen. She didn't know when but somewhere along the way of falling in love with you, Nora was glad she met Gretchen, glad she talked her parents into sending her and Rachel on the trip, she was glad she met you. Nora watched you reach Rachel, help her escape, and start fighting the shark yourself as Rachel swam back to the beach with one hand. Nora watched you got pulled under multiple times, each time praying you resurfaced. Nora watched as the water got darker from the blood spilled, watched as the struggling stopped, watched as you never resurfaced. Nora realized the only thing she regretted was never telling you how much she loved you and how much you didn't need to be the hero.
