"What did he want?" I don't miss the huff in Daniels tone, I haven't even closed the car door again before he barks out the questions.

"He's visiting Belfast soon." I tell him as I fasten my seatbelt again.

"And...?" He turns his whole body towards me, a demand in his voice.

"He wants to catch up properly, lunch or something." I tell him simply, because that is all it is.

"Who is this guy anyway? What did you say his name was?"

"His name is Harry, I told you he's an old friend we met ages ago when I was in high school." I speak clearly and softly, I have nothing to hide and I don't even need to tell him any of this.

"You've never mentioned him before." He says, I'm starting to get really fed up, I've only known Daniel for a couple of weeks, surely he can't think he knows everything and everyone in my life.

We're so close to Newcastle, we had just stopped at a garage to get some water and snacks when Harry called. Maybe I was silly for answering him, and causing this nonsense with Daniel.

"I hadn't heard from him in a long time, I have so many old friends you've probably never heard me mention." I'm trying not to snap, but it's really hard.

"Why did he suddenly get in contact with you now?"

"I bumped into him in New York and then we just have chatted a bit on Instagram since I got back."

"And he lives in London?"

I'm getting really pissed, "Mhmm." I tell him, nodding my head, indicating that I want this conversation to end.

We get to the car park and park close to the park entrance, truth be told I really can't be bothered with this, I only agreed in the first place because a hike sounded better than lunch at a fancy restaurant, he always took me places I didn't really like, like steak houses or seafood restaurants, I didn't like steak and couldn't stand seafood, I'd told him this but they were his favourite, so...we went.

"Ready?" I ask him, putting my backpack onto my back and making sure the laces of my walking boots are tied well enough.

He nods his head, he hasn't said much in the last ten minutes since we continued on from the garage, it's making this really awkward.

We set off anyway, I lead the way but I can see him trying to edge in front, he said he's only climbed these mountains twice before, I've done it so many more times, but I bite my tongue and let him take the lead for now. Clearly his ego has taken a bit of something.

He stops only about halfway into the hike, we have barely made it to the actual mountain path, he sits down on a fallen log and takes out a protein bar from the garage, there's not a lot I can do so I sit down beside him, it's way too early for a break but I don't say anything.

He throws his rubbish onto the ground and I turn to look at him, clearly annoyance isn't what he sees on my face because he leans over and he kisses me, pulling my face towards his, I kiss him back for a little while before I pull my head away, but he isn't finished he tries to pull me back over, but I resist.
